Sophia is THE GUIDE for Bordeaux - Bordeaux is a beautiful and historic city. The architecture is amazing. If you visit Bordeaux and want to learn about it from a local, there's nobody better than Sophia.
Originally from the UK, Sophia has lived in Bordeaux for many years. A big plus for travelers that speak English as their first language, Sophia speaks English that's easy to understand. This is important since Sophia has many interesting stories to share.
Do yourself a favor and visit Bordeaux, and make sure to book Sophia as your guide.

Historical anecdotes mixed with humor and exuberance - Sophia is a lovely energetic young lady with a wealth of knowledge about Bordeaux and an arsenal of relatable stories about its historical figures. She is personable and entertaining, combining fact, conjecture, commentary and humorous anecdotes to share the most important influences on Bordeaux, from medieval times to the present. A great guide, she is comfortable with all ages and demographics and easily adapts to the needs and interests of your group, while keeping everyone engaged. Not sure why there is such a limited number of private guides advertising in Bordeaux, but we had a fun and very satisfying walk with Sophia, worth every penny!

A Splendid Way to Discover Bordeaux - We spent a delightful and educational Morning with Sophia. The 3 hour Walking Tour was a perfect way to learn about the History of Bordeaux and also nuances of present day French Society, i.e. PACS compared to Marriage. In addition, Pastry is involved! Merci Beaucoup Phia!!

Experiencing Bordeaux with a pro. - Sophia is amazing! So knowledgeable and interesting! We loved touring with her and honestly it was sad parting ways. We hope to meet her again one day and learn more about this amazing city!

Morning tour of the city - Gentle but extensive guided walk to get to know the city. Great insights into the Bordelaise life and the city's history. Good balance of facts, anecdotes and personal insights. Felt we knew the city much better after the walk. Sophie is a delightful character and has a very engaging manner. She is originally English, now living in Bordeaux so communication was extremely easy.

Great Tour With Engaging Sophia - Just completed a first rate 3 walking tour with engaging Sophia, a UK expate now French citizen and Bordeaux local. She couldn't be a better mix - English native speaker with French fluency and a converts enthusiasm for her new home. The tour was a mix of interesting history, local custom, engaging conversation and a local's knowledge of what and where to buy that which is special to the region. We have been on many private tours in several countries in Europe/Asia and this tour was near the top. We highly recommend Sophia to guide you through the charm that Bordeaux offers.

Warm, engaging and highly knowledgeable guide - I would really recommend this tour with Sophia. It was like meeting up with an old friend who was proudly showing us her beloved city. Sophia was warm, engaging and highly knowledgeable about Bordeaux. We learned a lot and we were especially interested to hear about the process of Bordeaux’s ‘rejuvenation’ over the last 20-30 years, as well as insights into local life and culture, not to mention sampling local sweets specialties! This tour is excellent value and a great way to immerse yourself in Bordeaux.

My wife and I arrived in... - My wife and I arrived in Bordeaux early before our river cruise and we wanted to explore the city. Walking with Sophia is a wonderful way to get to know Bordeaux. As we walked along the various streets, Sophia's explanations and insights helped us understand the history, economics, and culture of the city. In addition, when Sophia learned that we were considering a light dinner of wine and cheese after the tour, she took us to her favorite fromagerie and boulangerie to make that happen. We highly recommend this tour.
