• The Fens - Crafted by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Fens is a cherished green space in Boston, home to America’s oldest WWII Victory Gardens. Jonathan Richman of the Modern Lovers sings, “I walk through the ‘Fenway with my heart in my hand”. Visitors will explore the gardens before proceeding to Kenmore Square.
• Kenmore Square - For many years, Kenmore Square was the heart of Boston’s music scene, with numerous record stores and venues like Storyville and the iconic rock club, The Rathskeller. Here, visitors will discover the many garage, punk, and new wave bands that emerged from “the Rat” in the 70s and 80s. The Police performed here four times during their first US tour in 1979. This is also where the Pixies first shared a stage with the Throwing Muses. Additionally, visitors will stop by “Nuggets,” one of the last remaining record stores in the area, before making their way around Fenway Park.
• Fenway Park - Stroll down Landsdowne Street in the shadow of Fenway Park and listen to stories of venues past and present, including the Boston Tea Party, Venus De Milo, Avalon/Axis, Spit, and more! Currently, both local and national bands perform on Landsdowne Street at the House of Blues or the new MGM Music Hall.
