- Lake Mead Marina - This is the collection of floating platforms and docks. The Lake Mead Marina wasn’t originally located here — it relocated! And it might just move again.
- Hatchery Saddle Point - Named after the now-closed Lake Mead Fish Hatchery, established in 1969 to cultivate striped bass and other trout species for sport.
- Sunset View Scenic Overlook - Offering sweeping views of Lake Mead and the desert landscape. From here, you can see the Boulder Basin, the Muddy Mountains, and the Callville Mesa.
- Owl Canyon Trailhead - As Lake Mead’s water level continues to decrease, many previously submerged areas are now visible. This includes canyons! Owl Canyon was once beneath Lake Mead but is now accessible for hikers to enjoy.
- Wetlands Trail - At just 1.5 miles long, this trail should take under an hour to complete. It’s a favorite among bird enthusiasts as the Black-throated Sparrow and House Finch are drawn to the vegetation along this path. You might even spot a Great Blue Heron! Dragonflies are also frequently seen here.
- Las Vegas Wash - Las Vegas Wash is the main channel that returns excess water from the Las Vegas Valley to Lake Mead.
- Anniversary Trails - Next is the Anniversary Narrows Trail! This easy 3-mile trail guides hikers through a slot canyon and typically takes about an hour and a half to complete.
- Northshore Summit Trail - This is a short yet steep hike. Persevere, and you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Muddy Mountains, Bowl of Fire, and the Bitter Spring Valley.
- Redstone Dune Trail - The Redstone Dune Trail is approaching. This easy looped trail is only half a mile long and takes less than 30 minutes to hike.
- Atlatl Rock - What is an atlatl? It’s a clever tool used by the Pueblo tribes as a dart thrower or throwing stick. They were used to launch spears and are depicted in the petroglyphs on Atlatl Rock.
- Fire Cave/Windstone Arch - Fire Cave was once nestled within a mini wind tunnel carved from sandstone rock. Windstone Arch stood at its entrance. Both were popular subjects for countless photographs due to their vibrant red colors and arch shape.
- Pastel (Pink) Canyon Trail - The Pastel Canyon Trail is just ahead. This easy, mile-long trail is one of the hidden treasures of Valley of Fire State Park.
- Fire Wave Trailhead - Next is the Fire Wave Trail, a 1.5-mile hike to a magnificent sandstone formation resembling an ocean wave frozen in time. It’s moderate and takes about an hour to complete.
