Exploring trains - Damon was an excellent guide who thoroughly explained the historic train cars we toured and his personal connection to the postal train car! The museum also features wonderful history.

Do the train tour!! - Dr. Minnix is so knowledgeable and personable. She treated us as family, not just people taking a tour. The new employee will learn a lot from her as he continues to walk through the tours with her. She knew most of the answers to my questions and those that she didn't, did her best to answer. My son loves the attention and interactions that she gave him. She is truly a gem.

Family vacation stop - The tour was excellent. The guide pointed out so many features that we never considered. Each car was different and well maintained or restored. The model train layout was great too

Great Side trip!! - This was a great little side trip in Bowling Green. We did the Lost River Cave boat tour and had a couple more hours left in us so we checked out the museum. We made the last tour of the day with Cameron. He was wonderful, a little bit shy at first and once he got going his love of trains and knowledge was outstanding!! He spent all kinds of time explaining little extras during the train tour and gave us a glimpse of the exhibits that are currently under construction. As a nurse i am looking forward to the hospital car that will be ready in the next couple of years. We had tons of questions and he was awesome!! Thanks Cameron!

The lore of the rails in a fascinating tour. - My wife and I engaged in a fascinating tour of an historic train, which has been refurbished by the Historic RailPark in Bowling Green, KY. I have always loved trains, but this look into the past and the fascinating body of knowledge gained with my new understanding of the ins and outs of this passenger line, sprinkled liberally with intriguing stories of the characters who interacted with the railway made the price of admission more than worthwhile. As a disabled man, I appreciated the fact that this tour was handicapped-friendly. This is a must for anyone who visits Bowling Green and who loves the lore of the rails!

Nice afternoon excursion - Our group of two parents and two young adult sons visited the train museum and tour during our trip to the area. The museum is restored well and tells the history of train travel. The model train display has great detail and enjoyable to view.
It was an interesting peek into that history to tour the trains. Our sons would have had a different level of interest when they were young.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning on 2 of the train cars was not working on the day we visited. With temperatures 90+, it was not pleasant to stand inside the cars with 10+ people, though that does give perspective for how hot it may get with the engine! The heat may also be why the video displays were not working.
A suggestion for the tour guide would be to speak louder or use a microphone and stay ahead of the group to lead. We give grace to our guide as we understand she is less experienced and our group was her largest up to this point.
The train museum can be part of your "planes, trains , and automobiles" trip in the area if you choose!

- Decent, but quite expensive for what you get. A family of 4 was $60 and there isn't much to see beyond the guided tour of the train. That guided tour was enjoyable and informative. Beyond that, there is a model train layout and some displays about the history of railroading in the Nashville-Louisville area. You're in and out fairly quickly. My kids liked playing with the wooden train toys in the kids' area of the gift shop the most. At least half of the depot building was business offices. There are no train rides here, and the other three train cars that you can see on your own are under renovation. You cannot go inside them and there isn't much to see. This would be easier to recommend at a lower price point.
