Day 1: Bucharest - Sinaia - Brasov
Peles Castle - Begin the day with a morning drive from Bucharest towards Transylvania. As you traverse the Southern Carpathians, make a stop in Sinaia to explore one of Europe’s most stunning castles - the renowned Peles Castle. This masterpiece of German New-Renaissance architecture was commissioned by King Carol I in 1873 and completed in 1883.
Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Continue the journey to Brasov, passing through the village of Bran. Upon arrival in Bran, visit Dracula’s Castle, famously known as the place where Dracula was imprisoned before being taken to Budapest. Proceed to Brasov and enjoy a guided tour of the medieval old town. Stay overnight in Brasov at Boutique Hotel Casa Wagner*

Day 2: Brasov-Viscri Village- Sighisoara
Village de Viscri - The VILLAGE OF VISCRI is a compelling reason to visit Transylvania and is one of the reasons Prince Charles of Great Britain fell in love with Romania. An optional visit to the Fortified Church of Viscri is available.
Centrul Istoric Sighisoara - Explore the OLD TOWN OF SIGHISOARA, featuring cobbled streets, burgher houses, and ornate churches. Begin your tour along the medieval street and visit the Clock Tower, also known as the Council Tower, built in the late 14th century and expanded in the 16th century. Continue the tour with the Venetian House, constructed in the 16th century. Visit Dracula’s house, where Vlad Tepes was born in 1431 and lived with his father until 1435, and enjoy a stroll on the covered stairs to the Church on the Hill.
Day 3: Sighisoara – Biertan – Sibiu
Biertan Fortified Church - The first significant stop of the day is Biertan Village. This UNESCO site is among the earliest German settlements in Transylvania. The fortified church, encircled by three rows of fortifications, was built by German peasants in Transylvania and served as the residence of the Transylvanian Archbishop for nearly 300 years. A room in the citadel was historically used as a reconciliation space for couples contemplating divorce (hear the full story on site).
Sibiu - Arrive in Sibiu before noon, the principal city of the Transylvanian Saxons. Enjoy a leisurely walking tour of Sibiu, visiting the old defensive walls and the remaining towers, each associated with a specific guild. One of Sibiu’s landmarks is the Brukenthal Museum, assembled by Baron Brukenthal, the governor of Transylvania at the end of the 18th century. The Evangelical Cathedral, completed in its current form in 1520, features a remarkable fresco of the Crucifixion on the north wall of the choir dating from 1445. View the Passage of Stairs connecting the Upper town to the Lower town, the 1859 Liar’s Bridge, and the Byzantine-style Orthodox Cathedral, a replica of St. Sophia in Constantinople.
Sibiu - Transfagarasan - Bucharest
Transfagarasan Highway - Depart Sibiu and traverse the mountains via the Olt River Valley, one of the most breathtaking valleys crossing the Southern Carpathians. Experience the TRANSFAGARAS EXTENSION (June to September). Visit Curtea de Arges, the first capital of Wallachia, featuring the old Princely Court and the monastery – the burial site of three of the four Romanian Kings of the Hohenzollern dynasty. Conclude the journey with a drive to Bucharest.
