- Balea Lake - Balea Lake is a natural glacier lake at 2040 meters, measuring 360 meters in length, 240 meters in width, and 11 meters in depth.
- Fagaras Mountains - The name “Fagaras” is believed to originate from “fagar,” an old term for a large ancient beech forest.
In ancient times, the lower part of the Fagaras Mountains was covered with oak forests. Today, “Dumbrava Vadului” remains, where daffodils (Narcissus stellaris), locally known as coprine, grow among the oak trees.
In the Fagaras Mountains, there is the “Mioarelor” glacial lake (2282 m), the highest glacial lake in the Carpathian Mountains.
The Fagaras Mountains boast 8 of the 14 Carpathian peaks that reach an altitude of 2500 meters: Moldoveanu (2544 m), Negoiu (2535 m), Coltul Vistei Mari (2527 m), Lespezi (2522 m), Cornu Caltunului (2510 m), Vanatoarea lui Buteanu (2507 m), Hartopu (2506 m), and Dara (2500 m). Additionally, there are over 42 peaks with altitudes between 2400 and 2500 meters.
- Vidraru Dam - Completed in 1966 on the Argeș River, it creates Lake Vidraru. The arch dam was constructed primarily for hydroelectric power generation. The dam stands 166 meters tall, with an arch length of 305 meters, and can store 465 million cubic meters of water. The reservoir has a total shoreline (perimeter) length of 28 km.
