Bratislava Old Town - Today, travelers will fly to Bratislava – or Vienna, if preferred – and a complimentary group transfer to the hotel will be provided. Upon arrival, the tour leader will greet the group and provide essential information.
At 5 PM, a guided walk through Bratislava’s charming old town will commence. Travelers should try to spot Bratislava Castle, which is prominently located on a hill. Additionally, they should look for a nice place to dine, as the evening will be free for dinner.
It is advisable to schedule flights with ample time to reach the hotel before the walking tour. However, if unable to arrive by this time, the guide will leave a note at the hotel reception, allowing travelers to join the group later.
Travel by fast train to the Tatra Mountains.
Poprad - After breakfast, travelers will transfer to Bratislava’s train station for a scenic 3.5-hour train journey to the Tatra Mountains, Slovakia’s largest and oldest national park.
The base for the week will be Tatranska Lomnica, a popular village in the Tatras, ideal for starting many walking trails.
In the afternoon, an introductory walk in the village will help travelers familiarize themselves with their surroundings.
Ride a cable car to Skalnate Pleso, trek to Velka Svistovka, and descend to Zelene Pleso Hut.
Hike through the picturesque Studena Dolina Valley to Zbojnicka, or ‘Robbers’, Hut.
Stary Smokovec - After breakfast, travelers will take a mountain tram to Stary Smokovec, the oldest village in the Tatras, followed by a funicular to Hrebienok (1285m), the starting point of the walk.
The hike will take travelers through the Studena Dolina Valley, which gradually widens from its narrow beginnings, with terraces featuring mountain lakes towering above. Travelers can pause to enjoy the colorful flowers, the scent of pine trees, and the sound of rare birds singing in the mountains as they traverse the valley.
The valley leads to Zbojnicka, or ‘Robbers’, Hut, where a traditional lunch of soup and dumplings can be enjoyed. Zbojnicka Hut, one of the highest at an altitude of 1,960m, remains a popular base for trekkers. Its name recalls the days when it was a hunters’ hut, and poachers roamed the valley.
The hike concludes at Hrebienok, where travelers will take a funicular and tram back to the hotel for a well-deserved dinner.
