Fantastic Experience - If you have ever wanted to do this now is the time. August 19, 2025. The bioluminesense is so bright!!! Our tour guide Catherine was so awesome, we did the latest tour mid week and we had a small group and it was so great. I have done it several times now but the bio is the best I have ever seen. Saw jellies, mullet and a manatee.

Super Great Experience - I have done this experience four other times in the past 15 years, but this one was the best ever. We saw the most fish we had ever seen, both under the water and hundreds or thousands leaping and frolicking out of the water all around us. It was amazing and un whirly and wonderful. To hear people laughing and exclaiming in the dark and to see the glowing in the water and above as the fish went crazy was so much fun. The guides prepared us for every event that could possibly happen and they took great care of us. I’m sorry I can’t remember the names, but they were perfect and we felt safe and informed. We had a group of six, one boy was from Switzerland and two people from Kansas City. It was really great to introduce them to this natural wonder, something so unlike a theme park that you can’t describe it. I recommend this to anyone who wants to go. You never know what you’re going to see, but it will always be spectacular. Well, done, kayak company!

The Best Bioluminescent Kayaking Company! - This was my second time going out on this tour with guides. Zoe and Devyn. They were fantastic in showing us ways to interact with the bioluminescent water, jumping mullets and the possibility of waking up a sleeping manatee (which we did encounter!) Our group of 9 had such a great time and our guides moved at a good pace making sure everyone was safe and answering all our questions. Between the beautiful clear sky and bioluminescent water, I didn't know where to look! Brought my niece and her two teens who were mesmerized by the whole experience. Highly recommend A Day Away Kayak tours for giving us such a magical evening!

Fantastically fun bioluminescence tour--if you're thinking about doing this, do it! - One word: AMAZING. Several other words: so much fun, something we've wanted to do for a long time, and we're so glad we finally did it and chose A Day Away for our first time out on a bioluminescence tour--we have kayaks and go out paddling a lot, but we've never done it at night and we hadn't ever tried the clear kayaks despite the fact that we've talked about it for years. So glad we finally did it! We had an awesome time, and our guides (Brandy and Tiffany--I hope I'm spelling their names correctly!) were so cool, nice and knowledgeable; we learned a lot and had a wonderful trip, and we felt completely safe and we could tell we were in good hands, which is hugely important when you're going out on the water at any time, but especially at night. It was such a serene and lovely evening and we can't wait to go back. :)

Awesome experience - We had an excellent kayaking experience with A Day Away Kayak. Our guide Jackson, was great - very knowledgeable and professional. We learned so much from him about the natural habitat in the water and along the coastline. The sunset was gorgeous, the bioluminescence was very cool, and the night sky was absolutely amazing. We will definitely book another tour with this company!

Beautiful night. Incredible experience. Always felt safe and supported by the team. - Drew and Josh really made this trip an outstanding experience. This was unlike anything we have ever done before. The clear boats are really less kayak and more canoe like in my opinion but they are pretty stable. Drew and Josh made sure we had easy ingress and egress into the kayaks and the water. As a local, Drew knew a lot about the dinoflagellates and local birds and fish - and shared that with the group. It was very very dark that night (which was great for viewing the bioluminescent micro-organisms) but it would have been easy to get lost if not for Josh who kept and eye on all of our group (there were 8 kayaks total). The bioluminescent phenomena was really amazing. We were lucky enough to have a low mosquito night. There was just enough wind to keep the bugs down but not too much wind to make the water rough. The non-kayak top/cover of the boats clearly allowed for a lot of water (from the paddles) to accumulate on the clothes and at the bottom of the boat so you should account for that when planning what you will wear - you will get wet, anything under the range of the paddle will get soaked. For us, it was definitely a magical experience. Would definitely do it again and would definitely recommend to friends.

Would go again in a heartbeat - We had a beautiful night. Full moon! Plenty of stars, dolphins, manatees. A little low on the bioluminescence but that was because of the full moon. Would wear long pants and long sleeves due to mosquitos! Bring bug spray. Overall great experience! Would go again!

Dope nature - Jorge and Keira were amazing! Very knowledgeable and it was easy to grab a boat and get going in the water. The bioluminescence was very bright in the summer warm water and new moon conditions

Disappointed by Last-Minute Cancellation and Refund Policy - I booked the 10:30 PM clear kayak tour at 7 PM the same day. Just one hour later at 8 PM, I received an email saying the tour was canceled due to weather. The timing felt last minute and frustrating, especially since I had just made the reservation. When I called to ask for a full refund, the woman on the phone explained that she had been “watching the storms.” If they were already aware of incoming and surrounding weather conditions, they should not have continued accepting new bookings. That felt irresponsible and misleading. I also purchased trip protection, but I’m still not getting all my money back, they’re keeping $15. I don’t understand the point of buying protection if it doesn’t guarantee a full refund when the cancellation isn’t even my fault. Overall, I’m really disappointed with how this was handled. I expected better communication, better planning, and better customer service from this company. Im not satisfied with my experience and hope they improve their refund policies and customer service.
