The upper fall dramatically descends 542 feet into a pool, then cascades another 69 feet to form a creek flowing into the Columbia River. Multnomah Falls is the second tallest year-round waterfall in the United States and the tallest in Oregon.
- Hood River - Enjoy lunch in downtown Hood River, where a variety of restaurants and craft breweries await, along with the chance to explore local boutique shops and wine tasting rooms. Post-lunch, venture into the Hood River Valley, celebrated for its stunning natural scenery, expansive fruit orchards, and rich farming heritage.
- Rowena Crest Viewpoint - Witness the swift transition in climate and landscape as the journey heads east to this renowned viewpoint atop a massive basalt formation, once called Memaloose Castle, now known as Rowena Crest. The Historic Columbia River Highway ascends through a series of horseshoe curves and switchbacks, ingeniously designed in 1915 to enable cars with limited horsepower to climb the 700 feet to the summit.
- The Fruit Loop - Discover locally owned and grown produce along Hood River County’s picturesque drive, the “Fruit Loop.” This route meanders through the valley’s orchards, vineyards, and family farms. Along the way, 28 seasonal fruit stands offer a variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, fresh fruit pies, jams, syrups, local honey, ciders, and handcrafted artisan gifts.
- Timberline Lodge - Standing at 11,249 feet, the glacier-covered Mt. Hood is renowned for its alpine ski areas, particularly Timberline, which boasts the longest ski season in North America due to its abundant snowfall. Timberline Lodge is the most remarkable structure on Mt. Hood, with its stunning architecture captivating visitors for over 80 years.
