Rannoch Moor - Enjoy a scenic drive through the dramatic landscape of the UK’s largest bog expanse. This area has been featured in numerous films and TV shows due to its striking scenery.
The Three Sisters - We will pause at the Three Sisters of Glencoe, a renowned mountain viewpoint and the most photographed spot in Scotland. Here, you can marvel at the breathtaking views and revisit some historical events of the MacDonald Clan.
Glenfinnan Viaduct - A 30-minute drive brings us to our main attraction.
Experience the enchanting setting of this famous Harry Potter film location and watch the ‘Hogwarts Express’ steam train cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct.
Our goal is to arrive by 12:20 pm. The Jacobite train is best viewed from the hill beyond the viaduct, a 25-minute walk, with the train expected between 1:10 and 1:30 pm (the train operates from early April to late October).
Mallaig - We will then take you to the fishing village of Mallaig, where we will catch the ferry to the Isle of Skye.
Fairy Pools - Our first stop in Skye is one of its most popular attractions. The Fairy Pools are stunning crystal-clear blue pools on the Allt Coire a’ Mhadaidh (Burn of the Dog), visible as they flow down the hillside of Coire na Creiche into Glen Brittle, becoming the River Brittle. You can hike the pools – and perhaps even take a swim if you’re feeling adventurous!
Sligachan Old Bridge - Our final stop of the day before heading to your accommodation is this legendary site, where you can dip your face in the waters below Sligachan Old Bridge to gain eternal beauty from the faeries!
Skye to Inverness
The Old Man of Storr - Traveling north of Portree, your journey will lead you to the Old Man of Storr, the iconic ridge in Skye, where you can hike to the stone formation. You might recognize it from the opening scene of the movie ‘Prometheus’.
Lealt Falls - The next stop is the impressive Lealt Waterfalls.
Kilt Rock - A short distance away, we will visit the Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls viewpoint.
An Corran Beach - The next stop is An Corran beach in Staffin, best visited at low tide to discover the recently found Megasaurus dinosaur footprints!
Quiraing - Next, we will take you to the Quiraing, another fantastic spot for stunning photographs.
Fairy Glen - Our final destination in Skye will be the famous and picturesque Fairy Glen.
Eilean Donan Castle - This iconic monument is the most photographed castle in Scotland and the quintessential ‘picture postcard’ of the country. You might also recognize it from the famous 80’s movie ‘Highlander’.
Chocolates of Glenshiel - The award-winning Chocolates of Glenshiel chocolaterie is a perfect stop for some handmade chocolates or hot chocolate. From the cafe, you can watch the busy chocolatiers in the production area.
Tour from Skye through to Glencoe and back home
Loch Ness by Jacobite - Dochgarroch Lock - You will have the option to take a cruise on Loch Ness, learning about its history and legends, including the famous Nessie!
Clava Cairns - Clava Cairns are 4000-year-old Neolithic burial cairns surrounded by stone circles. These stone circles inspired ‘Craigh Na Dun’ in the TV hit series ‘Outlander’.
Culloden Battlefield - The battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie was ultimately defeated, marking the end of the Jacobite hopes. Optional entry to the visitor center (additional admission).
Pitlochry - One of Scotland’s most famous small towns, Pitlochry retains much of its Victorian charm and offers a variety of boutique cafes, restaurants, and independent shops to explore.
Bankfoot - We will conclude the tour with one of our highlights - feeding our world-famous Highland Cows, also known as ‘hairy coos’.
