Historian guide proud to teach us about her much loved country! - Charlotte was so informative and clearly proud of her country and its history. As a historian who continues to research, read and learn herself, she taught us so much and was great at answering questions in a fun and relaxed manner. The water, juice and local snacks were a nice touch! My daughter is here in Barbados on a semester abroad and I think all international students should be required (or at least encouraged!) to take this tour.

I learnt so much interesting history. - What a brilliant day learning so much interesting history and insights into the Bajan life and culture. I loved the sculptures in hero’s square and the plaques with reverence for the people who suffered so far from their homelands.

Learning a little history about where I vacation is always a treat. - Our tour guide was Zachary and he was a wealth of knowledge and a joy to be around. It is flat walking so not strenuous walking and very interesting. It was hot and raining a bit off and on but go early as you can so it’s not too crazy! He also gave us a great lunch recommendation that was exactly what I was looking for.

History Leaping Off the Streets of Barbados! - Claudette makes history come alive! With an in depth "calendar of events" at the start of the tour, we understood the breadth of time to be covered and the peoples and their place in Barbados in those times. All told in the comfortable shade near the statue of Errol Walton Barrow. Then we moved out and discussed all sorts of historic sites throughout downtown Bridgetown including various individual players and their roles. Some of the tour was given in monologues from the point of view of the historic individual which added a personalized touch. She also gave us a lot of tidbits that I didn't get doing other tours of Bridgetown with various people on island--particularly facts surrounding the Jewish synagogue and burial ground, and the cannons used as bollards to protect the buildings! So much of this was absolutely amazing, and all told in a friendly engaging style with the best smile on island! Thank you Claudette!

Excellent and informative tour - We could not have been happier with this tour. Claudette is a fountain of information. Go on any tour she is narrating! You won’t regret it. It was a privilege to have such a well regarded historian showing us the landmarks and carefully taking us through the centuries. We asked questions and were engaged throughout. Thank you for sharing your beautiful island’s history with us.

Claudette Shone Bright Like A Diamond on Bridgetown Walking Tour. - Our "Historic Bridgetown Walking Tour with Claudette Levi-Farnum was booked for my daughter and I [Friday, August 22, 2025] became the centre of our conversation - this was an activity that my adult daughter here on holiday from London, UK insisted on doing. Having resided in Barbados from 1970 to 1980 and being transitory thereafter, I couldn't imagine how a walking tour of "town" would benefit me. What spin could a tour guide put on a story that I knew like the back of my own hand? Our taximan, Peter, dropped us off at Independence Square in keeping with the 9:15am advance gathering time for the 9:30 am start. The Square was sparse interrupted only by a large group which we hoped was joining us - that is until the people kept walking pass. Shortly afterwards, we noticed Claudette with Steven and I beckoned to Meagan that this was not looking good. The walking tour participants were my daughter, Steven and me. My first question to Claudette was "where is the mobbaton of people expected for this walking tour?" Well, on Friday I certainly learned never to judge a walking tour by the number of people participating! What started out a skepticism, ended up as total buy in when Claudette started her tour with some historical background socially and economically about Barbados and generated responses from our small group which made the backstory more individually relative to us. Our adventure took us through the city centre where we enjoyed shady breaks and refreshing beverages heightened by sampling typical Barbadian finger food like fishcakes and meat roll. Though I am not particularly fond of the "Heroes' Square" remembrance sculpture, the story behind the installation is interesting. The reference to Barbados old city - meaning one street over, from High Street to Swan Street and the myrid of roads behind. with their significant histories. was new to me. Claudette was engaging and is well versed in Barbados history. Her enactments took me by surprize as she transitioned from being our tour guide becoming instead, one of the ensalved people narrating life experiences, trails and tribulations. My daughter (visiting from London, UK) and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would take it again in a heart beat. Would I recommend this tour to friends and relatives? Absolutely!!! However the short fall of this experience is that Claudette's not walking through Holetown, Speightstown, Oistins!!!!! C'mon now!!!
