A great day out! 10/10 staff - Had a fantastic time at the Sea Life Centre! The highlight was definitely the glass-bottom boat ride with Olly — they were super knowledgeable, kind, and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. A great way to spend a few hours; highly recommended!

Knowledgable and passionate staff - We went to Brighton Sealife as a family and all the kids aged 15-22 thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions regarding any of the animals. One staff member “Louisa” was absolutely amazing! She spoke to our family for around 15 minutes giving us a background on the sea turtles, sharks and other sealife at the aquarium. She seemed truly passionate about what she was talking about and knew the answer to every question. The youngest said after the interaction that “she loved talking to her and it was her favourite part of the day”.
We did an external deal which ended up being around £12 per person which we thought was reasonable although I believe tickets are originally around £27. I probably wouldn’t pay full price for tickets however for £12 it was an excellent day out. We were even able to leave the aquarium and return later on re-admission to come back and see the shark and turtle feeding. I wouldn’t say this is somewhere you can spend all day at however for a good few hours I would definitely recommend.

Great for babies - Has a great time with my 3 month old. He loved looking at the fish in the tanks and the bright lights.
Took about 45-60 mins to get round
It is quite expensive for the time in there but he enjoyed it and that’s all that matters

Good but could be improved - We love the Sealife centers and have been to this one and few times. My daughter wishes there were more things to touch and explore in the touch pond.
We booked the glass bottom boat, it would have been amazing if there hadn't been an uninvited guest (a cockcroach!) This had everyone a little unsettled and feeling itchy, taking the shine off the experience. Having had a chat to staff, a refund for this was given and we will give it a go next time and hope for a trip without the guest!

A Charming but Compact Visit to SeaLife Brighton - I had a lovely time at SeaLife Brighton, and there’s plenty to appreciate about this attraction. The history of the aquarium is fascinating, and the architecture at the entrance is strikingly beautiful, setting a great tone for the visit. Inside, there was a wealth of information about the fish, which added depth to the experience. One highlight was the unique ant exhibit, where I enjoyed watching ants carry leaves through transparent tubes. We also got lucky with our timing, catching the sea turtles and sharks being fed—an unexpected treat we hadn’t planned for. The staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming, which enhanced the overall experience.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The aquarium was a lot smaller than I anticipated, and it took just about an hour to see everything. I was a bit disappointed by the condition of the tanks—grubby glass and acrylic on the viewing side, combined with some algae buildup inside, made it harder to see the aquatic life clearly. Additionally, some of the electronic screens displaying fish information were out of order, which was a letdown so you didn’t always know what was inside the tanks. While I enjoyed my visit, I probably wouldn’t return, as I feel I’ve seen all it has to offer.
It’s also worth noting that parking is a challenge. There’s no dedicated parking for the attraction, and the nearby seafront parking is quite expensive. While this isn’t SeaLife’s fault, it’s something visitors should plan for. Overall, it’s a charming spot with some standout moments, but a bit of maintenance could make it even better.

Average and definitely not one of the better aquariums - Their claim to fame is being the world’s oldest aquarium and while that is charming it does unfortunately hugely limit them. The tanks are tiny so no real big fish except the mixed species tank in the middle with turtles, rays and a few sharks.. nurse sharks I think. You can do the whole place looking at everything in 30 mins so it’s not worth the price, cafe is terrible and doesn’t even do sandwiches and the gift shop is just what you’d expect, a money grabber. If you’re in Brighton for a weekend there are lots of better things that are worth £18PP to do than this. It needs a major upgrade and get some decent fish.

It was average, very quick to get round if you go round people as it was crowded with ques of people. - I would defiantly recommend going on a quieter day (I went on Saturday 19th April) there were crowds of people and a que to go round most of the exhibits/tanks which was hardly moving. I must say a lot of staff were also rude which my toddlers didn’t understand why they weren’t nice.
We went round twice (the second time my 2 toddlers basically sprinted around) and was there around 40 minutes.

Small and Not Very Accessible - We came for the Animal Crossing event. There are a few stations with two ink stamps on each, a few Animal Crossing items in the shop (some soft toys, one set of badges, some Lego and some mugs) two characters in costume for photo opportunities and, apparently, Guliver. Apparently, because we didn't find him. The husband asked a member of staff and today he was located in the Auditorium, which I couldn't find any way to get to in my wheelchair.
The aquarium itself is very small and it took us 15mins to get around the whole thing (baring in mind some bits were inaccessible for me). It's very dark inside, yet there are weird lights all over the place, many shining in my face. There are also signs all over the place. When we were about to go through the first door after the main area, a staff member stuck his hand out and asked us to wait a moment. Fine. I had no idea why...until flashes went off and freaked out my daughter. Apparently this is an official photo point? Which you don't seem to be able to avoid. I asked the man if he could warn people about the flash when he asked them to stop and instead of taking this on board or asking why, he snapped back that there are signs. Which we didn't see...in the dark aquarium with so many competing signs.
The worst bit for us was the fact that when the 'talk' is on in the auditorium, the speakers are extremely loud and you cannot escape it anywhere in that area including in the tunnels and the surrounding areas. We were in there when it started and even with her ear defenders on it was too painful for my daughter who made a run for it. We had to go very fast to get her out of there...each turn bringing a new loud speaker attached to the wall.
It's a shame but this place really isn't accessible in a way that it could be with a few basic changes, in spite of the age of the place. It's probably educational for kids who haven't seen these animals before and live locally but if you're travelling any distance, perhaps this won't be for you. It certainly wasn't for us. I will add that apart from the guy who took umbridge at my asking for him to warn people about the flashes, most of the staff (who we had to ask for help several times due to poor layout and signage) were friendly and clearly doing their best.
