Chocolate heaven - The museum is outstanding. You must book in advance when we arrived about twenty people behind us where turned away who hadn't booked. You get a listening device in your own language and tap it on numbered discs as you make your way around the tour taking your own relaxed time. The chocolate at the end is to die for!

Great facts and learning and well done props - You will learn a lot about history and how chocolate is made. It was a great self guided tour. Using a mini phone that you simply tap on an icon then listen. I wouldn’t say good for kids under 12 at all, most would be bore. The pace and time spent at each numbered station is great. Building was cool as well. Beware this is not a guided tour with a human leading the way.

To do absolutely in Bruges! as a couple or family. - The audio guide system is great: just go over a thumbnail to get the detail. A special child audio guide exists. Games are offered to children in many rooms. Therefore, everyone, large or small, enjoys his visit. I think the museum has been extremely well thought out with these various floors, objects from all eras. It's just a great place! Especially since a tasting awaits you at the end... Congratulations to the chocolate artists/artisans for the dream and the delicacy you offer us.

Few issues - Very informative and educational with lots of historical artefacts. Had to change the audio guide twice before I got a working handset (ask from However, there were lots of stairs, so if you unfit, dont attempt. There is a 6 only for those with disabilities such as wheel chairs

Learned a lot about chocolate, but busy and a lot of noise from children. - We had ordered tickets in advance at 11 am. There was a whole queue, so wait 15 minutes. A school class also went in. Why not separate entrance/box office for those who already have tickets. Received an audio device, which is easy to operate and clearly eavesdropped. The visit works with numbering. Some signs with numbers are not in logical order. In some rooms there are so many people that the signs with numbers are shielded by them. There is a lot of noise from small children and the students of the school class. This often makes it difficult to understand what was being told. Plenty of showcases with articles to behold.

Fine but a little long-winded. - It was a well organized tour with a good story. A bit long-winded but after this tour you know a lot more about chocolate. So, all in all, I succeeded.

Avoid as it’s very boring and not interactive - Very disappointing. You walked around a few rooms learning about the history of cocoa. It could be done on a much more interesting way. At the end there is a 5 min demonstration. It had just started when we ended the walk round the house so hoping it might make the trip worthwhile we waited for the next talk only for the woman to then put up a sign saying the next demo was in 25 mins. Complete waste of money and time.

Invest in the real deal chocolate not this uninspiring rip off - Old, tired exhibits and a nightmare to navigate. Snappy staff who make you feel like you're a nuisance. Avoid when there are so many more interesting things to do and see in this beautiful city than climbing up and down bockety stairs repeating the same information. Even the so called demonstration person was unnecessarily rude to the one person who was interested enough to ask her a question⁉️
