• 9J97+6J Byron Bay - Experience Humpback Whales up close aboard “Wardjam” our purpose built vessel. Listen to their incredible song with our onboard hydrophone and learn about Humpback behaviour from our on board marine biologist. Between May and November each year over 30,000 Humpback whales migrate between their Summer feeding grounds in Antarctica and the warm waters of the tropics and the Great Barrier Reef. Byron Bay is the perfect place to experience the whales as they swim close to shore along our stunning coastline. Our on board marine biologist will be able to explain Humpback behaviour and tell you all about the lives of these incredible ocean giants. Our boat is perfect for getting to the whales quickly and safely for an intimate encounter with a small group. Our skipper is highly experienced having filmed whales around the world for documentary film and our guides have degrees in Marine science. We usually encounter other marine species such as dolphins, turtles and migratory birds as well as the whales. If no whales are sighted you are welcome to join the next tour free of charge, but with so many whales migrating this doesn`t really happen!
