A not to be missed opportunity - An enjoyable and not to be missed visit to the baths. Make sure you bring your own towel, flip flops and swim hat. Unfortunately one of the out door pools was closed, but the other pools made up for it.

Authentic looking architecture. Glad we went - We enjoyed this spa. It was impressive and there were plenty of options in respect of different pools, saunas etc. I do understand comments of others that it was a little rundown but honestly this didn’t detract from our enjoyment and I would visit again if in Budapest. Probably couldn’t spend a day here. Would recommend around three to four hours. It wasn’t overcrowded when we visited.

Worthwhile - An experience definitely worth the visit but it is a tired place. Main issue we had was the outdoor pool (the main pool) was out of action and clearly hasn’t been in use for a long time as it was full of algae and debris. This meant the only outdoor pool which was a small one was crowded. The indoor pools were ornate and well worth seeing. Overall an experience we don’t have in the UK.

Great experience - imposing building housing several baths and a swimming pool, plus steam room and cold plunge pool. It's a little tired and could do with a refurb, but it's very relaxing and not too busy. We had a massage as well, which was fabulous !

Lots of different pool options. No towel hire - Interesting spa. Need to explore as there’s lots of areas. Found a pool temperature that suited us. We stayed inside. Can’t hire towels, so buy there or BYO. Individual changing rooms. We didn’t try the cafe. The hop on bus stopped nearby. A nice treat for our last evening in Budapest.

Not what it seems - On entrance to the spa, I showed the voucher/QR code which stated 2 people - the woman on reception was very rude in the way she stated that this wasn’t the one. She offered not assistance & then called over another person even though there were 3 other people on reception without customers waiting. The outdoor pool was not open & full of green algae - the ‘adventure pool’ was very full as a result, the outside was not ready to sit in either. I paid for a day ticket with a cabin - this was a swimming pool changing room not what I would expect as a ‘cabin’. There were some other changing rooms which would be more as I would have expected - I don’t know whether these were for hotel guests. The indoor pools were nice with 4 at differing temperatures & the seating area on the indoor balcony was nice. Overall disappointing experience, which started at reception.

Gellert Thermal spa - Beautiful decor , great facilities, lovely thermal facilities. A let down was that you couldn’t really really, there is a notice to say keep the noise down (do people can actually get that much needed relaxation), how re so many people talking loudly , phones everywhere. It would be a better place if people weren’t taking instagram perfect stupid photos.

Overrated - My husband and I were really looking forward to this but it was a bit of a let down. It looks amazing in the photos and it's a wonderfully imposing building but sadly it has not been well maintained and when we visited in December half of the complex was drained and closed. We chose this one over the other as it was recommended by a local YouTuber who made it look great and advised it was less crowded... It's not and it's a smaller bath. I say give this a miss and choose the other Szechenyi Baths and go early.. around 9 or 10am because it fills up quickly and you can barely move. This is definitely not worth the £35 pp entry, more like £20 because they're clearly not using the money on upkeep. Also: take your own towel and sliders as they are provided but at a vast fee.

Deceptive - Deceptive experience Unpleasant welcome. The Gellért baths are aging and deserve a renovation inside In addition, the large outdoor pool was closed. A small remains open but is full Dear for what it is

Nothing special. The... - Nothing special. The thermal pools aren't really but just plain pools with different temperatures of water.
