- Plaza Italia - Snack or refreshing drink at Plaza Italia
(Seasonal - Winter) Plaza Italia is also known for a popular local drink enjoyed throughout the day. We’ll explore the rituals and customs associated with this drink and pair it with another local favorite, alfajores (two cookie wafers with a layer of rich dulce de leche, covered in real chocolate).
(Seasonal - Summer) On hot summer days, we’ll switch to a refreshing cocktail named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, whose statue we’ll visit and learn about at Plaza Italia.
- Palermo - Argentine Steak - We’ll visit a local, non-touristy parrilla (grill) for a steak lunch. Depending on availability, we’ll accompany this with pure mixto (mashed potatoes and squash), morcipan (blood sausage on bread with salsa criolla), provoleta (grilled provolone cheese), bread, water, or wine.
-
Palermo - Choripan
We’ll stop for one of Argentina’s most beloved sandwiches, which is given a modern twist at this spot. -
Palermo - More snacks or craft beer or coffee/tea
By this point, some people might be full, while others can opt for another typical snack. There are plenty of options, and if you’re too full to eat, we can also enjoy some craft beer or specialty coffee or tea. -
Palermo - Ice Cream
Argentina has a rich tradition of making incredible ice cream. In my opinion, it’s among the best in the world.
