San Antonio de Areco - Explore a traditional silversmith’s workshop, where talented artisans create beautiful items like mates and belt buckles, keeping gaucho traditions alive. At Paradores Draghi, embark on a historical journey not just as an observer, but as a participant in crafting exclusive goldsmith pieces. These pieces are shaped by artisans using traditional goldsmithing techniques, as pioneered by their founder, Juan José Draghi, in the 1960s.
Upon arrival in the town, enjoy a tour of the village, including a stroll through the historical downtown area.
- Parroquia San Antonio de Padua - Situated on Segundo Sombra Street, between Alsina and Arrellano. Don José Ruiz de Arellano established the first oratory at the center of his estate. This oratory’s foundation was crucial for the town’s creation. Between 1720 and 1728, the first chapel was constructed, slightly to the right of the current location. The foundation stone of the present church was laid on February 7, 1869, and was buried beneath the central entrance door. Inside, a lead box containing original records on parchment, newspapers of the day, medals, and coins of the era was placed.
- Estancia El Ombu de Areco - Head to the exclusive ‘El Ombu de Areco’ Estancia. Here, you can enjoy horseback rides or carriage rides while savoring traditional cold cuts, cheeses, and beverages. Then, indulge in a classic Argentinian barbecue featuring the finest meats. As you enjoy dessert, you will be treated to a folklore show followed by a display of gaucho skills.
