In the area of LGBTQIA+ rights, Argentina has positioned itself as a global trailblazer. Over the past twenty years, the country has adopted same-sex marriage, permitted adoption by Queer individuals, and enacted one of the world’s most extensive and forward-thinking laws for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. What accounts for this extraordinary progression in a predominantly Catholic nation? Join us to explore the historical journey and struggle that led to this point, from the decriminalization of homosexuality to registering the first non-binary birth. Accompanied by one of our queer guides, you’ll visit significant sites, exceptional NGOs, and understand the continuing struggle for visibility, acceptance, and inclusion. During the tour, we’ll traverse through significant spots symbolizing the struggle and acquisition of rights such as the National Congress or the Jáuregui subway station and even stop by an NGO. With each tour, a contribution is made to NGOs advocating for visibility, inclusivity, and acceptance.
