Cairo to the White Desert

White Desert - At 10:00, you will arrive at Bahariya Oasis where you will meet your safari guide. You will then take your 4x4 Jeep and begin your adventure.

Drive to the Black Desert, named for the layer of black powder that covers its mountains, highlands, and sand. This powder blankets the peaks of some mountains.

White Desert - At 12:00, lunch will be served at El Haize Oasis, located 37 km from Bawiti. Some consider this a separate oasis. During Roman times, the area was very prosperous, and many current families originally hail from Libya. Before lunch, you can relax in a hot water spring, which will quickly alleviate stress. The heat naturally relaxes tense muscles, promoting feelings of calm, well-being, and tranquility.

White Desert - There is a museum here called the Water Museum, which educates visitors on the importance of underground water for desert inhabitants and showcases the tools Egyptians used to raise water for irrigation.

13:00 Then drive to the Valley of Agabat.

14:00 Arrive at the Valley of Agabat, deep within the White Desert. The place’s otherworldly beauty must be experienced firsthand. Millions of years ago, it was underwater. Over time, unique rock formations of limestone, chalk, and possibly sand have developed.

White Desert - Then, explore the desert by discovering Wadi el Agabat by 4x4 Jeep and enjoy sandboarding.

16:30 Explore the White Desert National Park, the most famous desert destination in Egypt.

There are hundreds of formations here, each resembling an animal—a chicken, a sphinx, camels, tents, mushrooms, and chicken-shaped rocks.

17:30 Set up tents and enjoy the sunset.

18:30 As the sky turns pink and then a deep fiery orange, the rock shapes fade, and silence surrounds you. Sitting around a small fire and enjoying a simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, you will find it incredibly satisfying. Bedouin staff will arrange dinner and desert camping. (Vegetarian food is available.)

White Desert - Bahariya - Cairo

White Desert - At 06:00 am, enjoy the sunrise.

At 07:00 am, you’ll have breakfast in the desert before driving to Bahariya Oasis.

At 09:00, on the way back, you will visit Crystal Mountain, locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz. It’s more of a crystal hill, often called the Jewel of the Desert, formed by quartzite crystals that look stunning in the sun’s rays. This natural feature was discovered by accident a few decades ago.

White Desert - At 11:00, drive to Bahariya Oasis and soak in the heat at Bir Sigam, a hot spring that aids relaxation. Located 7 km east of Bahariya on the Cairo road, it is the best hot spring in terms of temperature.

In the summertime, stop at Bir Madi, which is a cold spring.

Lunch will be served in Bahariya before driving to Cairo.
