Swinbrook - Swinbrook is a small village on the River Windrush, about 2 miles east of Burford. Untouched for generations, it is the quintessential English village with its stone walls, pretty church, village hall, cricket pitch with wooden pavilion, and an old stone pub next to the old stone bridge across the River Windrush.
It has been used for the filming of Downton Abbey and visited by UK PM too! -
Earl Shilton - Shilton is my favourite village… nestled in The Shill valley a place that exudes the quintessential Cotswold character , ambiance and class.
Shilton’s close relationship with the Cotswolds is undeniable. Its traditional architecture, featuring honey-colored Cotswold stone, and the surrounding rolling hills paint a picture of classic English countryside. The Shill Brook flows through the village into a clear pool used by children and dogs in hot summer days! The area surrounding Shilton is one of natural beauty, and historical significance. -
Bibury - Bibury is a charming, typically Cotswold village. With its stone buildings strung out along the banks of the River Coln, it’s easy to see why Artist William Morris called it ‘The most beautiful village in England’.
We walk gently through Arlington Row cottages which we’re originally built in the 14th century as a monastic wool store. It was later converted in the 17th century into a row of weavers’ cottages and round a Trout farm and gardens.

Bourton-on-the-Water - Bourton-on-the-Water is famed for its picturesque High Street. Lying on the meandering River Windrush with several low arched stone bridges resulted in the village becoming known as “Venice of the Cotswolds”.
Tour the many shops and take a manner of stunning photos of this bustling town! -
Lower Slaughter to Upper Slaughter walk - Cotswolds villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter are thankfully named after muddy wetland areas in the Old English language and nothing worse!
Nestled on the banks of the River Eye, these twin villages link via a mile-long path peaceful, idyllic village set by the river and home to one of the most romantic streets in the UK – Copse Hill Road.
We drive slowly through these tiny Honey-hued houses adorned with colourful flowers and traditional windows which sit aside the babbling brook.
The village is a picturesque movie location too, and most recently the Jane Austin 2020 film ‘Emma’ was filmed here.
Artists come from far and wide to paint This untouched since 1906 village ! -
Woodstock - Woodstock is a fine Georgian town located in the Oxfordshire Cotswold and has a distinct Royal heritage, containing many attractive period buildings: the 18th century Town Hall; the Church of St Mary Magdalene with its Norman doorway, early English windows and a musical clock, which plays tunes hourly.
It lies at the gateway to Blenheim Palace full of history back to the 17th century and the birthplace of Winston Churchill. -
Stow-on-the-Wold - Stow-on-the-Wold is a town in the North Cotswolds in England. The town centre, whilst small, is extremely beautiful, focused around the large market square and the pretty little streets leading off it.
We stay for a true English pub lunch in the oldest Inn in England 962!
