Pick up & Transfer to Nyungwe National Park for a Canopy Walk
Nyungwe Canopy Walk - Guests will be collected from their hotel or the airport at 7:00 am to meet their driver guide, who will provide a briefing about the trip. The journey to Nyungwe National Park will commence, passing through local markets and the beautiful green rolling hills of Rwanda. A stopover at the King’s Palace will offer insights into the vibrant culture of the Rwandan people. The journey continues to Nyungwe, where upon arrival, guests will enjoy a lunch break and prepare for an afternoon canopy walk.
Suspended above a ravine in the lush montane rainforest of Nyungwe National Park, the canopy walkway offers an exhilarating view of the ancient treetops and wildlife.
Having survived the last ice age, the Nyungwe forest is a hotspot of biodiversity. During the hour-long walk to the canopy walkway from the Uwinka Reception Centre, visitors will encounter numerous butterflies, orchids, and colorful birds, many of which are endemic to the region.
Chimpanzee Tracking in the Morning & Visit to Waterfalls
Nyungwe Forest National Park - Rise early for breakfast at the lodge and prepare for a day full of activities. The driver will take guests for a briefing, which begins at Uwinka. After the briefing, park officials will assign one of the trails based on the number of participants.
During chimpanzee tracking, expect to see 12 smaller species of primates, including Hamlyn’s Monkeys, owl-faced monkeys, Dent’s Mona Monkeys, Angola Colobus, Red-tailed Monkeys, and a variety of colorful bird species like the Rwenzori Turaco, great blue Turaco, paradise flycatcher, and forest hornbill, among others. Throughout the activity, park guides will share information about each species encountered – their behavior, feeding, and reproductive habits.
After refreshments at the hotel, guests will be taken for a nature walk to visit the waterfalls. Nyungwe National Park boasts over 14 trails for nature walks, designed to allow visitors to experience the park’s flora and fauna.
Lake Kivu Relaxation Tour for Hiking, Boat Cruise, & Kayaking
Lake Kivu Rwanda - Guests will take a motorboat on one of Africa’s Great Lakes, offering a beautiful view of the scenery surrounding Lake Kivu, best experienced on the water. It’s a delightful way to travel! The motorboat will take guests to Cyimbili for a coffee tour.
This fascinating tour of a thriving coffee washing station brings to life the entire process of harvesting, washing, roasting, grinding, and preparing some of the best coffee in Rwanda.
Visit Munini, popularly known as Napoleon Island, for a hike to the summit viewpoint and the spectacle of a lively bat colony. Later, a refreshing swim in the warm, clean water from the kayaks is very invigorating!
Explore Lake Kivu on a peaceful kayaking journey along the shores of the lake. With an experienced and qualified leader in charge, guests will paddle a modern sea kayak or sit-on-top to explore inlets and bays, soaking up the spectacular scenery, meeting fishermen, seeing local fish farms, and optionally visiting the hot springs.
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Cyanika Border
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After enjoying a cup of coffee at 7:00 am, guests will meet the driver guide and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, crossing the Cyanika Border.
The drive takes guests through stunning landscapes of the Virunga Ranges, welcoming local communities, and local markets. The journey will include exciting stopovers for short breaks and picnics. Upon arrival, guests will check in at the lodge and later enjoy a short community walk.
The Ultimate Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Lake Bunyonyi Relaxation
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest -
After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, guests will enter the gorilla sanctuary for their adventure. The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular!
The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists.
The time taken and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates. Once a gorilla group is located, guests will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awe-inspiring, exciting experience to be cherished.
Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter check out for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of 2,200 – 2,478m, but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — guests could admire them all day.
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a Launch Cruise at Kazinga Channel, and a Game Drive.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - At 7:00 AM, guests will check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a two-hour launch trip on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes George and Edward. Guests will surely be fascinated by the concentrations of giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, among others. They will also see many varieties of birds on the water’s shores.
In the afternoon, proceed for a game drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70%, though sometimes they are hard to spot (especially when they’re down in the grassland looking for prey).
Sunrise Game Drive and Transfer to Either Kampala or Kigali
Kigali - After breakfast, guests will drive back to Kigali via Katuna Border, visit the Genocide Memorial Center, and later be dropped off at the airport.

Alternatively, guests could drive to Kampala via Mbarara at Igongo Cultural Center, then stop over at Kayabwe for the Equator experience, and later proceed to Entebbe for the airport drop-off.
