Terry was a great laugh... - Terry was a great laugh and made the experience. Both of us managed to catch some waves. Much better deal than other surf companies in Byron.

I would be happy to recommend - On that day it was very windy and therefore the waves were quite strong. Good thing Terry knows the area well and has chosen a great beginner bay for us. After a short but sufficient technique exercise on the beach we got into the water quickly and were able to try out there with or without help. In fact, surfing worked very fast for everyone. And we had a lot of fun!

Book with Kol Katz - Great experience!!! Whole family participated, including kids aged 6 and 11. None of us had surfed before but we all managed to get up with 15 minutes and the kids showed us how it should be done!! Little fella even managed to catch a wave for about 100M. Terry was fantastic, showed patience and offered fantastic advice and encouragement for the kids (and the grown up kids too lol). He took us all to a nice, calm and safe location that was perfect for all ages and levels of ability. Whole experience was great fun and great price. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Terry the Surf Wizard - Such an amazing experience, I couldn’t recommend more for first time surfers. Terry is a brilliant teacher and he knows the beaches and waves so well. Today the waves were massive around Byron so he drove us out to a beach where they were smaller, the perfect size for beginners. I was in a group of 8, at first we were all pretty hopeless, but by the end of the session every single person was up standing confidently on their board catching waves it was incredible.

Lighthearted, affordable, and safe - If you’re looking for a somewhat boring and uniform lesson where you spend an hour on the beach before you even touch the water, then this is not the lesson for you. Terry has been teaching for 35 years and knew the best time and location (watch your emails for the timing and be aware the drive was 30 mins for us - I wouldn’t book any other activities on the same day) for us as a group of beginners to get the most out of the lesson and the waves. When you arrive at the meet location you may think you are in the wrong place but trust the process. Terry is eager for everyone to enjoy themselves and catch a few waves (which we all managed) and he does so in a jovial, Aussie manner whilst keeping us safe. Speaking of, don’t be idle in helping out getting the surf boards on and off; he’s 69 so save his back! You also really can’t argue with the price which is far cheaper than competitors in Byron so if you’re just looking for a light-hearted day out with the goal of standing on your board for some waves then this is the lesson organiser for you. Come with an open-mind and a sense of humour and you’ll be grand.

Very good for beginners! - We were driven about 30min to a small beach with perfect waves for beginners☺️The price is very good, especially for backpackers and you get what you pay for.
