Fun and quirky Montreal food experience - Great experience. Chef Rob shares the diversity of Montreal's culture through a culinary experience. I met two very interesting couples, and it was a great time. Highly unique and even quirky, but I like quirky. To address some of the negative comments on Viator, please note that this is a tasting menu, not an all-you-can-eat buffet. The focus is on quality, not quantity. Think tapas portions. Also, the venue may, and probably will, change based on the number of participants. At my tasting, it was me and two other couples, so it was moved to an artist's loft just blocks away from the original location. This was more interesting and intimate. Chef Rob prefers to communicate via WhatsApp, and you get a flurry of messages the day before, finalizing the location and time. Finally, some have mentioned Chef Rob's demeanor. He is very focused, so you need to ask questions if he doesn't introduce himself or explain a food completely. He's very open and very direct. It's all part of the experience. Enjoy it!

Awesome Food, Awesome Experience! - I booked this as part of a get-away for my wife and my 10th anniversary. I'm definitely more of an introvert so showing up to a bit of a 'clandestine' location to meet up with a handful of strangers wasn't my idea of a good time, but I wanted to do something special for my wife so I sucked it up. Thank God I did. The food was phenomenal, Chef Rob told some really interesting stories and the other people we ate with became our short-term best friends. It was a really great time and I'm incredibly glad we did it. I would recommend it to anyone.

Pop Up Supper Club - An enjoyable experience that had pros and cons Pros: The food was great, excellent use of seasoning that created an interesting blend of flavors. Plated presentation was good. The chef is well trained and knowledgeable. Con’s: It’s called a Supper Club but it is really a Pop Up in a friends kitchen The location is a run down 4 story apartment building. You have to climb to the 4th floor (8 stair sections) which were not very clean. It seemed over priced since most, not all, of the ingredients were fairly simple and available. The $250 Canadian bottle of red wine was $62 Canadian at a local liquor store the next morning.

Supper Club in Montreal - The food here was honestly really good — you can tell the chef knows what they’re doing. Everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. I was super impressed with the cooking! That said, the setting just didn’t match the quality of the food. The space felt a bit tight and not very comfortable for a sit-down dinner. It kind of took away from the overall experience. I’d definitely come back for the food, but I really hope they improve the atmosphere — the chef’s food deserves a better setup.

A real sh@$& show - The cost of this event was way too high for the food, wine and overall experience. The food was good not great, My wife and i left hungry and annoyed. The chef was EXTREMELY opinionated, rather unlikable and a very poor communicator. The chef coerced me to pay him directly for the wine ($78.80 for just me) as compared to paying thru Viator. He said Viator will mark it up significantly, so i should just buy the wine through him. He served a Rose’ which i hate and something that he described as a drink for those who hate beer, which i also didnt imbibe. For close to $80, he did not pour my first glass of a nice wine until halfway thru the meal. I was given 2 glasses of wine, one white, one red and a small glass of another white wine. Talk about being taken. The actual meal was good, albeit portions were a little small plus his duck dish was bare, nothing served with it. The balance if the meal, like the Chef, was off. It could have used a star h and a sweet. His final course was a local cheese, which was tasty. With a blackberry and a blackberry sauce; no dessert! The first message i had received provided a meeting place address that was not correct. The venue was on the 4th floor of an older building with no elevator. 2 of the women following the event comments to me outside afterwards how disappointed they were. I have had a few events with Viator and some if my trust has eroded. In closing, towards the end of the meal, the chef mentioned a number of restaurants in Montreal that he would not recommend. Ihad only wished that i had his list prior to his event and that his establishment were on that list!

Don't waist you money here! - We attended this dinner on December 25th, Christmas Day, and it costs far more than it is worth. First of all, it is located on the 4th floor of an old, dirty building with no elevator. Instead of napkins, they give you kitchen rags. Wine glasses are not changed when switching wines; in fact, the “chef” even asks diners to rinse their own glasses and pour the water into a plastic container. The food is merely good, but well below what the chef boasts about. On top of that, he treats his assistant in a demeaning manner. The only positive aspect of the evening was the other guests at the table, who were very kind—a family from Germany and another from the U.S. The chef made inappropriate comments regarding the guests’ nationalities and even demonstrated his ignorance by stating that Mexico is not in North America. He refused to shake hands with my son’s girlfriend, who was the one who made the reservation. When I asked for a particular wine that he was serving, he refused, arguing that I could taste it with the diner next to me—yet he also refused to give that wine to the other diner, despite the fact that we paid a significant amount for the wine pairing. Throughout the evening, the chef repeatedly claimed he had spent a lot on our ingredients and beverages, but in reality he serves cheap cider and the ingredients are not what he claims them to be. I am writing this review because, at the end of the dinner, after everyone had left, I kindly offered the chef some feedback, and he rudely told me to post a review instead. Honestly, Montreal is full of excellent restaurants and real chefs who are truly worth it—so look for another option.
