- In July 2025, I did the 2-day/1-night tour in the Colca Canyon. Everything was very professionally and pleasantly organized. The hike itself is manageable for anyone who is generally active. For everyone else, there are donkeys available to carry you back up if needed.
After descending about 1000 meters, you can relax by the pool in the oasis. The accommodation there is clean and well run.
The next day, you hike back up the 1000 meters — each person at their own pace. Afterwards, the program becomes more relaxed, with visits to hot springs, viewpoints, and watching llamas from the car.
Our guide Rafael was an excellent companion — professional, funny, patient, and full of local facts about the valley, its people, and its history. The tour was a lot of fun! I can definitely recommend it.

- Carlos was a great guide with a lot of information and knowledge having grown up in the local area. The canyon is beautiful and it is definitely worth doing a tour if you have time!

Recommended with Rafa - My partner and I have done the two-day tour in the Colca Canyon with Rafa and fully recommend it. The walk is demanding but with Rafa's spirits and explanations he gets along much better. Thanks to him we learned about the culture and customs of Arequipa and the Canyon itself. It makes the tour very enjoyable and fun with personal and general curiosities of the area (fauna, flora, gastronomy, culture...)
Thank you so much for everything.

Great experience. Not an ‘easy’ hike, but very rewarding. Best tour guide! - Our guide Alex was amazing. Super kind. Explained everything and took such good care of everyone. The hike was not super easy, lots of downhill the first day. Not great on the knees. Staying at the oasis was great, especially at night seeing all the stars without any light pollution. The trek up was not the easiest, but doable if you take your time.
Loved the people in the group and the atmosphere.
Great experience and recommend!

Perfect! - We made the 2-day trek accompanied by our guide Carlos and the experience was just perfect!
Carlos passionately shares his knowledge of local culture, which makes hiking even more rewarding. The night at the hotel was also excellent: very comfortable, with tasty meals included.
We also had the chance to meet Ivan, another guide who supervised a group over 3 days – also very nice and professional!
A great team and experience that we recommend with our eyes closed.

Amazing Experience in Colca Canyon - We did the Colca Canyon tour with Oasis Palmeras and had a fantastic experience. Our guide Rafael was outstanding. He provided great information throughout the trip, was easy to talk to, and made sure everyone in the group was well taken care of. The entire tour was well organized and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

2 days in the canyon - I had the most amazing experience on this trip, the hiking was hard and you definitely need to be a bit physically fit to complete it but the views were worth the sore calves. Carlos was our guide and he was so helpful he gave us so many wonderful insights into the culture and the people who lived in the canyon, he made everyone feel welcome and didn’t shame anyone for going at a slower pace.
I’d highly recommend this trip and hopefully you get Carlos as your guide!

Guide A1 - The trip exceeded our expectations as we did not have the effort that had to be put in for the hikes. Without a doubt, they make the best of each one to reach the desired goal (our place to sleep hehe). Regarding our guide Ivan, thank you very much because he was watching us from start to finish with a positive attitude at all times. Highly recommended

Great experience - Great experience, very nice scenery. The walk down and up was not easy at all. I recommend carrying as little as possible and plenty of water. Also note that our guide Ivan accompanied us at all times and always with a positive attitude, this also added much to the whole experience.

Not for the faint hearted! - This is one of the most difficult hikes that you can participate in while in Peru. The 2 day is more intense than the 3 day - you walk a total of 21km, the majority of which one the first day. Most people find the first day the hardest because you are walking from 10am to 5pm - it's hot in the canyon and descending can be taxing on your knees and hips. I found the second day the most difficult - 4km of steep climbing plus dealing with pains from the day before and altitude! The hike is worth it though, beautiful walk in nature and spotting wildlife. Plus our guide, Rafael, was wonderful. He kept our spirits high and shared loads of local knowledge
