During this tour, you will traverse a channel nestled within a natural reserve, encompassed by diverse mangrove varieties. This shelter from harsh winds facilitates easy paddling in serene waters.
The highlight of this tour is undoubtedly the dazzling illumination of the ‘Big Lagoon’! Minute bioluminescent creatures known as ‘pyrodiniums bahamenses’ are the ones behind this magical spectacle. Whenever you stir the waters with your kayak, they emit a blue-green light throughout the bay, making it an unforgettable experience!
- Children must be 6 years or older
- Maximum weight per person is 245 pounds. For safety reasons, customers will be weighed at check-in.
- Bioluminescent is a beautiful experience and with or without moon we could use a tarp.
- Kayaks are double (2 people per kayak). Odd numbers groups will be paired with another person on the tour. Single kayaks cannot be guaranteed to odd numbers. Children will only be assigned with their parents or family member of the same party.
- All participants must be able to row the kayak and complete the tour.
- Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or with any type of misconduct won’t be allowed.
- Pregnant travelers cannot participate

Great experience. Great team - The bioluminescence was amazing to see and well worth the trip. Our guides were a lot of fun and made us feel very relaxed. Would recommend!

Such a fun experience - We had a great time even though it was raining - they stayed by us the whole time and made sure none of us got scared or stuck.
Experiencing the bioluminescence in the water was something I won't forget for a long time - thank you!

Thank you, Yokahu - Sooooo, I messed up and accidentally booked our Bio Bay kayak tour for the wrong day!!! I meant to book a Wed evening, but accidentally booked for a Thurs eve (when we were leaving the island Thurs afternoon). We were very sad to get all the way out there and find out my mistake and that they were already at full capacity for the Wed. However, Yokahu was nice enough to refund our fee since we could not come back the next night. We really appreciate this, and are already talking about when our next trip back to PR will be. We will DEFINITELY be taking the kayak tour with Yokahu next time.

Amazing tour guides, Amazing experience - I loved how patient the guides were. They were so helpful and kind. I loved how they explained safety and talked out the local wildlife we might see. It does get really dark on the way back, but they made sure no one was left behind. Also, Johnathan and his team was really funny 😁

Magical - Kayaking through the mangroves at dusk was magical on its own; then the sparkling bioluminescence was really cool. It wasn’t a hard paddle. Well organized tour - had a great time!

Perfect tour! - We had a great time on the kayak tour. The guides were informative and fun. It was well organized, including using the tarp to block out the light pollution to better see the bioluminescence. Thanks for the great experience!

Fun adventure - kayaking through the mangroves under the moon was magical. I felt like I was safe and in good hands with the guides. The only downside was how crowded the waters were.

Good Company, But Not Expecting the Challenging Return - This company was great. The experience seeing the bioluminescence was a lot of fun. Our only problem was on the return trip from the bay, through the canal and back to the starting point. Picture multiple kayaking companies fighting for position to get back into the canal and tourists in the dark paddling into each other to get their spot in line. You would think the companies would have an agreement to go in order but no it is somewhat chaos. At one point our kayak got hit and pushed into a bush part way into the return canal with my 8 year old son in the front. Again, good company, but we weren’t expecting this experience on the return.
