• Cahuita National Park - Cahuita National Park offers a breathtaking eight-kilometer trail along beaches reminiscent of a “Pirates of the Caribbean” film. Begin the journey at the Kelly Creek station in Cahuita, a quaint seaside town, and trek around Punta Cahuita to reach Puerto Vargas beach. In addition to its beautiful beaches and lush tropical flora, the park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including mammals and reptiles.

As the most accessible national park in the southern Caribbean region of Costa Rica, Cahuita is a popular destination for many visitors. It spans 2,732 acres of land and 55,200 marine acres, established to safeguard the country’s largest coral reef.

The 600-acre reef hosts approximately 35 coral species, over 100 species of fish, mollusks, crustaceans, and sea turtles. The park also features several rivers, providing habitats for a variety of wildlife such as white-faced monkeys, herons, caimans, sloths, snakes, and lizards.
