Great small boat experience! - Great experience! Darrin and Justin were great! Very personalized experience going on a small boat which is great for diving. Arrived as strangers and left as friends with staff and other guests.

Loved it!! - What a fantastic entry liveaboard for our family! As we had a very tight schedule, the 2 days and 1 night was perfect for us. Jan was our skipper and handle the sailboat and the managed the ship beautifully. Chad was an exceptional dive master to take two of us on intro dives with patience and clarity of explanation as well as a good knowledge of marine life. We felt very safe! Pete and Chad were very hard working with making and cleaning up after meals and getting the four of us kitted out for snorkeling.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the boat is a bit older but it met our needs well.

Unique Experience on The Great Barrier Reef - My boyfriend and I had an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience with Coral Sea Dreaming! Neither of us had ever scuba dived before, but we felt more than comfortable trying it for the first time—especially with no better place to do it than the Great Barrier Reef.
The crew—Darren, Chad, and Yann—went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and ensure we had a great time. The ship was well maintained, and the food was excellent. One of the best parts was being out on the reef without huge tourist crowds. At one point, we passed a boat with probably 80 people on it, and we were so glad we didn’t choose one of those trips.
You have the chance to do up to five different dives or snorkeling sessions at various locations. We ended up doing two dives and five snorkeling sessions, and it was absolutely worth the price for such a unique experience. I would highly recommend Coral Sea Dreaming and would love to come back in the future for another dive!

Perfecte manier om Great Barrier Reef te ontdekken - Fantastic 2 day live-aboard sail&dive trip with 5 dives (including 1 night dive). Captain Justin and his international crew (Chad (SA), Teun "Peter" (NL), Darron (UK)) gave us a relaxed dive and sail experience. The benefit of small groups a board (max 12) does pay off!!! Well arranged and outside the normal large scale operations out of Cairns, this is the trip to book.

Great small boat diving overnight - Our family loved this trip. It was a wonderful small-group experience. Captain Justin and dive instructors Chad, Darren, and Peter created a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere while always being super attentive to safety.
We were put in small groups for diving, and the crew met us exactly where we were - offering assistance where needed, and giving us space when we demonstrated our experience levels. One of our family snorkeled instead of diving, and really appreciated having a guide to point out interesting sights. The whole trip felt low-pressure and high support.
The ship is small, and this is definitely not a luxury cruise. That said, the crew took care of everything we needed, providing meals and snacks, drinks and fresh drinking water.
The only blip in the entire process were some hiccups with communication when we had questions about the ship layout and snorkeling options.
We highly recommend Coral Sea Dreaming for anyone who wants a small, family-owned, safety-minded, friendly and supportive dive experience.

Great way to explore the Great Barrier Reef - Amazing Experience! Justin and his crew Marie and Chad mad sure we had an amazing two days at the Great Barrier Reef. Me and my wife had a great time snorkeling and diving.
Justin moored the ship at three different spots during the two days, each very beautiful for both snorkeling and diving. I did three dives guided by Chad en Marie which were amazing, diving between the coral reefs and even spotting a swimming Moray Eel! The night dive was also fantastic. I went snorkeling two times, and actually saw more and different fish/sharks than with diving! You also could take introduction dives for inexperienced or first time divers, where they guide the dive to the coral reefs under close supervision, this was also a great option for some of the guests.
The crew made sure everything went swimmingly, and smooth. Justin has lot's of stories to tell. All in all a great experience.

Great Barrier Reef Magic with Coral Sea Dreaming - We had a wonderful two-day dive and snorkel trip from Cairns aboard Coral Sea Dreaming. Even though the first day took an unexpected turn due to an engine failure, the experience still turned out to be truly memorable thanks to the fantastic crew and the great atmosphere onboard.
Captain Justin, along with Chad and Darren, kept everything upbeat and reassuring from the moment the issue arose. They worked tirelessly to troubleshoot the problem, and we were especially impressed when the boat’s owner, Jan, personally came out to help fix the engine. Their teamwork and commitment were outstanding—they genuinely gave 200% to get us back on track.
While we couldn’t make it to the promised outer reef snorkeling spot on the first day, the crew found an excellent alternative for day two, and the snorkeling ended up being a highlight of the trip. Clear water, beautiful marine life, and plenty of time in the water made it absolutely worthwhile.
Another big positive was the small group on board. It was mostly young people, and sharing the experience with such a fun, easygoing group really added to the trip. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and full of good vibes.
On top of that, the food was great, and spending a night on the boat added an intimate, adventurous touch to the whole experience. Despite the initial setback, we felt very well cared for and genuinely enjoyed our time.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we’re grateful to the entire team for turning a challenging situation into an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommended!

Delightful trip with a competent and professional crew - Captain Matt and crew/dive masters were top notch. Nothing went wrong and the conditions were calm and clear, so nothing to test the good Captain, but he was clearly experienced and competent. I dove with Divemaster Alina, who was clear with her instruction yet pleasant and easy going. Dive sites were fantastic, as you would expect on the GBR. Boat had seen a few years but was properly maintained. Food was basic but tasteful and nourishing. I liked the small size (10 people, 3 of whom were divers). It didn't feel like a cattle car.

Well worth the value. - What a great experience and definitely worth the value.
As the skipper, Matt was a very experienced and knowledgeable seaman and even better entertainer!
Alicia and Chad were our dive instructors and I can't say enough about how patient, calm and knowledgeable they were. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. Thank you Chad for helping retrieve the GoPro.
The food was plentiful and good, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, the equipment was sound and in good working order. Even though it was a smaller vessel it did not seem crowded.
I would recommend this trip for anyone looking for an overnight that provides a more unique experience.
Thanks again to the crew, we had a great time.

The dives were fine, but leadership and safety were lacking. - The captain was not polite to the rest of the crew, and this affected the overall atmosphere. In general, the ambiance was not what we had imagined.
We carried out the dives despite bad weather and high waves, but the return to the boat was not safe.
In particular, there was an unpleasant incident where the captain suddenly pushed the instructor into the water without fins or mask, in heavy rain and high waves. This was done to force her to help us during the return to the boat, given our difficulties. Unfortunately, she could not assist us because she had no equipment and was herself in trouble.
