Dunk Island - Predominantly a national park, Dunk Island is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, offering stunning walking trails and beaches lined with palm trees. From the jetty, head left along the beach to find the trail signs for Muggy Muggy Beach and Mount Kootaloo. There are six different hiking options ranging from easy to moderate. Enjoy excellent swimming at Brammo Bay and Muggy Muggy Beach, where snorkeling with marine life is also possible. The scenic ferry ride along the coast includes a marina boarding process and a light breakfast (included), with 5.5 hours spent on the island from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Djiru National Park - The drive to Mission Beach from Cairns typically takes just under 2 hours each way, but it’s a journey worth taking. You’ll pass by Queensland’s two tallest mountains, Mount Bartle Frere and Mount Bellenden Kerr, as well as sugarcane fields and banana farms, offering a glimpse into local life. Upon leaving the highway, you’ll travel through the lush Djiru National Park, where you might be fortunate enough to spot a wild cassowary.

Upper deck we have deluxe outside seating. We visit Dunk Island for almost 6 hours which gives the most disconcerting hiker or explorer time to indulge themselves in any of the island’s wonderful walks. Dunk Island is truly the jewel island of Far North Queensland and is the perfect day out for soft adventure seekers.
