• Kuranda Scenic Railway - Embark on a 37-kilometre rail adventure aboard authentic vintage carriages through the Barron Gorge National Park, a World Heritage-listed rainforest known as The Wet Tropics, traveling from Cairns to Kuranda, a charming rainforest village. The railway ascends 327 metres above sea level, with the steepest incline being 1:50. The journey includes crossing 55 bridges, navigating 98 curves, and passing through 15 hand-carved tunnels. Each carriage is equipped with audio commentary to provide passengers with historical insights throughout the trip. A complimentary trip guide, available in 11 languages, includes a journey map that aligns with the onboard commentary. Onboard Guest Services Attendants are available to answer questions and assist during the journey. There is a 10-minute photographic stop at Barron Falls Lookout. Water coolers are available in each carriage. While not all seats on the Kuranda Scenic Railway have a window, every seat offers access to view the stunning scenery.

Your day begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cairns city, followed by a short 20-minute ride to the Smithfield Skyrail station.
Experience the Skyrail journey to Kuranda, where our guide will meet you and provide a tour of the village. Enjoy free time exploring the Kuranda markets, butterfly sanctuary, and wildlife zoo. Alternatively, you can opt for additional activities such as the RFS Army Duck tour, horse riding, ATV experience, or a Kuranda Riverboat ride.
In the afternoon, travel back to Cairns on the historic railway. Our guide will arrange your admission and provide all necessary information for the journey.
Finally, we will pick you up from the Cairns railway station and return you to your hotel. Itinerary adjustments may occur based on railway seating availability.
