• Yungaburra - Dinner is enjoyed in the charming heritage village of Yungaburra, established in the 1890s. Many original buildings remain, offering a sense of stepping back in time. The centerpiece of the village is the Yungaburra Hotel, the dinner venue, built in 1910 from rainforest timbers. Its impressive size and atmosphere provide a glimpse into rural life during the pioneer days. The food is delicious and hearty, ensuring no one leaves hungry, and local beer or wine is available to complement the meal. After dinner, relaxation sets in as preparations for the nocturnal search begin.
• Curtain Fig National Park - As night falls, the search for nocturnal creatures commences. This is when the rainforest is most active. Being enveloped by the sights, sounds, and scents of the rainforest at night is an unforgettable experience. The chosen locations are safe and easy to navigate in low light. The variety of animals includes mammals, reptiles, birds, and insects. Fortunately, mosquitoes are scarce in these areas, so unless someone is particularly attractive to them, they won’t be bothered. The tour concludes with a visit to the incredible Curtain Fig, a natural wonder and the largest known strangler fig in the world. The journey then returns down the Great Dividing Range to accommodations in Cairns, leaving the unforgettable sights and sounds of the rainforest at night lingering in memory.
