Cairo Downtown is Worth a Tour Guide - If you think you don't need a guide to show you around Cairo, you're completely wrong. The Citadel, the Hanging Church, the old museum—all were culturally rich and eye-opening. Our guide, Mahmoud, was knowledgeable and friendly. He is among the best we had during our entire trip in Egypt—something we only realized later after joining other local tours and having a fair comparison. If you decide to buy the Cairo Pass on your own, two things to note: first, we were told it was no longer on sale at the Old Museum (this information was never updated online), and that we could only get one near the Citadel. Also, a kind reminder to sign your Cairo Pass—especially if your next destination is Luxor—otherwise the Luxor officials will spend a lot of time talking to you.

Very Satisfying Sampling of Old Cairo - Our guide, Ibrahim, arrived on time to our hotel, and we immediately went to the museum of Egyptian Antiquities. We arrived shortly before they opened and were first in line so we could get in before the museum got too crowded. He then took us to specific rooms and exhibits of special importance in the museum. He was highly knowledgeable about these items and gave us in-depth information about them. Of paarticular interest to me was the Narmer Pallet. We liked his approach to focus on the really important items rather than overwhelm us with lots of items and only superficial explanations. We were especially interested in seeing the Treasures of Tanis exhibit since we would be visiting Tanis the next day, and he made sure to include that in our tour as well. Following the museum tour, we had a lovely lunch (not included with our tour) at a restaurant outside the museum. During this time, Ibrahim answered many questions and provided a lot of cultural and historical information about Egypt. We then visited other sites on the tour. We saw a good sampling of old historic Cairo. A good guide is essential for a tour to be successful. Ibrahim was excellent. In addition to his extensive knowledge, he had really good people skills and was tuned into our needs (such as offering assistance up the stairs, etc). We liked the way he paced the tour. We never felt rushed, yet we saw and learned a lot during the few hours of the tour. We were very satisfied with our day.

Awesome tour with Ahmed - Ahmed and his driver picked my wife and I up from our hotel. We then spent a delightful and incredibly informative 7 hours with Ahmed touring several sights. Ahmed’s knowledge regarding Egyptology was incredible, plus, his enthusiasm to teach us about the history and culture of Egypt made this tour by far the best we went on in Egypt. The Egyptian Museum, Citadel, mosque and Coptic churches were all worthwhile sites to visit. Included in the tour price was lunch, we went to Abou Tarek for koshary. The food and service were both wonderful. To summarize, we enjoyed the tour, especially with Ahmed as our guide.

This trip is definitely worth doing - Very informative and enjoyable trip. Best way to cover all the ground. Anan made the trip very easy and was a pleasant and helpful companion. We are a family of 4 (all adults). We started at 9am from the hotel and were back at 5pm. We covered a lot of ground but it didn’t feel rushed. Anan gave interesting and through descriptions of all the places we visited and she is an engaging person to talk to. A couple of points to be aware of - as we started at 9am there wasn’t really time for lunch otherwise some of the Coptic churches might have closed by the time we got there. So it having lunch at lunchtime is important then perhaps start at 8am. We ended up having our lunch with Anan just before 4pm as the last part of the tour. For us that was fine, but if you are starting at 9am you might want to bring an apple or something from your breakfast buffet along with you to eat whilst in the car.

Incredible Tour - This was an amazing experience!! Anan was very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to about the nuances of Egyptian culture and religion! She was insightful and engaging. I would highly recommend this tour because the sites were amazing, but it was the conversations that made it phenomenal!!

Amazing Tour! - Hussam was knowledgeable, professional, extremely friendly! He communicated with me before our tour and was punctual on the day. I learned so much from him as he is a very talented guide! Cairo is not an easy place to move around. In my opinion, you will need someone trusted to help you getting around this grand city. I highly recommend this tour!

Cairo Centuries just in a couple of hours - Thx a lot for the tour with Annan today. She has been very helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all places she had shown to us and appreciated a lot that she went the extra mile to go to the Cave Church with us at the end of the trip. This showed us an other part of the Cairo world that we would have missed otherwise and completes our picture - it showed us how some people life and work much different from ours.

Citadel/Mohamed Ali mosque, coptic area, original Egyptian Museum - Well recommended, we got what was advertised with timely service. We went to the Mohamed Ali mosque, the optic area, and the (original) Egyptian museum. Mohamed was a good guide. There was an offer to go into the higher quality stores (we went to 2 out of curiosity) and there was no (to little) pressure to buy. Lunch (koshary) was provided.
