- Cave Church - The tour guide will meet guests in the hotel lobby at 09:00 AM, followed by a transfer to the Monastery of Saint Simon, also known as the Cave Church of Zabbaleen. This church, dating back to the tenth century AD, was established for Saint Simon the Tanner. It is situated in Mokattam Mountain and carved into the mountain’s native rock, making it the largest church in Egypt and the Middle East. The journey includes a brief drive through “Garbage City,” home to a large community of garbage collectors, or Zabbaleen.
- Coptic Cairo - Next, the tour proceeds to Old Coptic Cairo, one of the oldest districts in Cairo and a bastion of Christianity. This sacred area is significant for having hosted the Holy Family during their journey in Cairo. Visitors will explore the Hanging Church of the Virgin Mary, built atop the Babylon Fortress, followed by a visit to Saint George Church, constructed in the tenth century by Coptic scribes in honor of Saint George. The tour continues to the Cavern Church of Sergius and Bacchus, dedicated to two Roman martyrs, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest in Cairo. Afterward, guests will enjoy lunch at a pleasant restaurant before being transferred back to the hotel.
