- Al Rifai Mosque - The tour continues with a visit to the prominent Al-Rifa’i Mosque, situated opposite the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, which dates back to around 1361. This mosque was designed to complement the older structure as part of a 19th-century initiative by Egypt’s rulers to link themselves with the grandeur of Egypt’s Islamic past and modernize the city.

Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan - Next, visitors will explore the grand El Sultan Hassan Mosque, also known as
Madrasa El Sultan Hassan, established by Sultan Hassan in 1356 A.D. This massive Mamluk-era mosque and madrassa, located near The Citadel in Cairo, was constructed between 757 AH/1356 CE and completed in three years “without even a single day of idleness.” At the time, it was notable for its impressive size and innovative architectural features. Commissioned by a sultan of modest stature, al-Maqrizi highlighted the mosque’s “wonders of construction,” including schools for all four Sunni schools of thought: Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali. - Al-Azhar Mosque - The tour proceeds to Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, also known as the mosque of the most resplendent. This mosque, located in Islamic Cairo, Egypt, was commissioned by Al-Mu’izz li-Din Allah of the Fatimid Caliphate for the newly established capital city in 970. Its name is believed to reference the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah, a revered figure in Islam, who was given the title az-Zahrā, meaning the shining or resplendent one. It was the first mosque built in Cairo, a city now known as “the City of a Thousand Minarets.”
- Al Emam El Hussein Mosque - Conclude the day tour with a visit to El Hussein Mosque in Cairo, a revered mosque thought to be the burial site of the head of the prophet Muhammad’s grandson.
- Museum of Islamic Arts - The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Cairo, Egypt, is regarded as one of the world’s finest museums, boasting an exceptional collection of rare woodwork and plaster artifacts, as well as metal, ceramic, glass, crystal, and textile objects from all periods and regions of the Islamic world.
At the end of the tour, the guide will return guests to their hotel in Cairo.
