• Giza Plateau - The Giza pyramid complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. These were all constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt.

The site is situated at the edge of the Western Desert, approximately 9 km (5 mi) west of the Nile River in Giza, and about 13 km (8 mi) southwest of Cairo’s city center.

The Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of Khafre are the largest pyramids built in ancient Egypt and have long been symbols of ancient Egypt in Western culture. They gained fame during Hellenistic times when the Great Pyramid was listed by Antipater of Sidon as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is the oldest of the ancient Wonders and the only one still standing.

• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was linked to a causeway, which was mostly destroyed during the village’s construction.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, some of which were found in a well in the temple’s floor by Mariette in 1860. Additional statues were uncovered during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
• Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza, often called the Sphinx of Giza or simply the Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head. Facing directly from West to East, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The Sphinx’s face is generally believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre.

Carved from the bedrock, the original shape of the Sphinx has been restored with layers of blocks. It measures 73 m (240 ft) long from paw to tail, 20 m (66 ft) high from the base to the top of the head, and 19 m (62 ft) wide at its rear haunches. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and is widely believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during Pharaoh Khafre’s reign (c. 2558–2532 BC).

• Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Continue your day tour to Sakkara, located just 27 km southwest of Cairo. Visit the Step Pyramid (built for King Zoser), which is considered a significant part of the pyramid’s evolution from the simple mastaba to its well-known form. (2 hrs)
• Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas (Egyptian: Nfr swt Wnjs “Beautiful are the places of Unas”) is a smooth-sided pyramid constructed in the 24th century BC for Pharaoh Unas, the ninth and final king of the Fifth Dynasty. It is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid but is notable for the discovery of Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed into the walls of its subterranean chambers. First inscribed in Unas’s pyramid, the tradition of funerary texts continued in the pyramids of later rulers, through to the end of the Old Kingdom, and into the Middle Kingdom with the Coffin Texts that form the basis of the Book of the Dead.
• Pyramid of Teti - The Pyramid of Teti, located in Saqqara, Egypt, is a fascinating ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. It stands as a testament to the ingenuity and architectural skill of the Old Kingdom, attracting visitors worldwide with its impressive size and historical importance. Explore the chambers and corridors of this pyramid to uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark.
• Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Saqqara. Discovered by Auguste Mariette, the mastaba contains two serdabs. The tomb’s walls depict various scenes of everyday life.
• Memphis and Sakkara - Continue your day tour to Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx are located. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. (1hr)
