A great day out for the family! - Menna our guide, made our visit an excellent and illuminating experience, bringing the history to life with her deep knowledge and enthusiasm. She was also great with the kids. We saw the ancient Coptic churches including where Jesus, Mary and Joseph were said to have hidden from King Herrod. We also saw the synagogue, visit the fantastic Khan el Khalili market and rode in a Felucca sail boat on the Nile. Would highly recommend.

Ask for Wael! This was an amazing tour. - Wael was by far the best tour guide we had on our 6-day trip in Egypt. He is a 3rd generation tour guide with vast knowledge of Egyptian history and culture. One of the highlights of our trip was enjoying Turkish coffee at El Fishawy Cafe in the Bazaar and talking all things Egypt with Wael. Objects sold in the Bazaar are meant for tourists and are low quality. Prices will also be unfair, so be prepared to negotiate. **If you do not want to be harassed in the Bazaar but still want to see it, we recommend going at 9am while shops are still opening**. On Sundays, Coptic holds mass and you will not be able to enter the church until 11am.

Just book it - What a fantastic experience. Our guide Sahar, was extremely knowledgeable and her love for her country shone through. After visiting the religious buildings, we stopped for a drink at an historic restaurant on the edge of the Bazaar. A bit of calm before the storm of the bazaar! What an experience. Colourful, mad, chaos and we loved it. We had mentioned that we wanted to visit the Citadel and Sahar arranged to extend our tour to include it. This too, is a must see. Thank you for a great day Sahar.

A surprising gem in Cairo - When you think of Cairo your mind either goes to the pyramids or to the chaotic modern city, but discovering the Coptic area was something unexpected. Entering the church behold on top of the cave where the Holy Family loved for months was breathtaking. They picked up from our hotel lobby in a super comfortable new car. The driver was an expert in driving through the overcrowded streets. Our guide, Amany, was the perfect guide for doing all of this. She is very knowledgeable and had the patience to also let us explore more time on our own. 100% recommended.

Five Hours Filled with Delightful Experiences - This is a great dive into the Coptic Christianity community in Egypt, both historically and contemporaneously. It is fascinating to hear how it fits in the matrix of early Christianity during the Roman period and how it changed after Arabia defeated the Romans. It is also very interesting to see some of the early Christian sacred sites, and their connection with the holy family escaping to Egypt shortly after Christ was born. It is also interesting to see how the architecture of the early churches appropriate elements from the Roman, Egyptian, and Arabian cultures. The tour also includes time in the ancient Islamic section of Cairo. The old market that we visited is a hubbub of activity and very colorful. My tour guide, Mohammed Kafafy, was absolutely wonderful. His English is excellent, and his knowledge of the subject matter is quite extensive. He also has keen interest in architecture, and very generously shared his knowledge with me. One very interesting fact is that the Egyptians have over the years dismantled many of the pyramids to use the sandstone blocks to build new things in the city. A lot of of the pyramids have been lost to this practice. We stepped over the transept of one door which actually utilized a large stone at the threshold that had ancient Egyptian figures carved into it. It had most been taken from an ancient monument. I highly recommend this tour.
