Your knowledgeable Coptic guide will collect you from your Cairo or Giza hotel, transporting you in a private air-conditioned vehicle for a memorable spiritual day tour. The first stop will be the tree in Matareya where Virgin Mary is said to have washed her clothes, from which a balsam tree, now referred to as the Virgin’s Tree, grew. Following this, you’ll visit the historic Coptic area Al Moallaqa, featuring the suspended Church built atop the ruins of the Roman fortress of Babylon. The church displays a wooden carving of Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem and is home to roughly ninety Basilican-style icons. The tour will then take you to Abu Serga Church, located near the Coptic Museum. After lunch, you’ll be driven for around 20 minutes to the large Mokattam Mountain to experience tranquility at St. Simon Church, also known as the Cave Church. The tour concludes with a return trip to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
