- Lake Minnewanka - Another excellent alternative to Moraine Lake (Oct 14 - May 31). Located just fifteen minutes from Banff town, Lake Minnewanka is encircled by majestic mountains. Known as “Lake of the Spirits” by the indigenous Stoney Nakoda First Nations, it offers easy walking trails and boating opportunities. In winter, it transforms into a stunning ice skating rink, often featuring fascinating ice bubbles created by trapped methane gas.
- Moraine Lake - (June 1 - Oct 13 only) Next, visit the equally stunning Moraine Lake. Spend an hour exploring this glacially-fed lake, famous for its vibrant blue color and the surrounding Valley of the Ten Peaks. A short hike up the Rockpile Trail provides panoramic views and excellent photo opportunities. (Visit Moraine Lake from June 1 to October 14. For tours between October 14 and May 31, the alternatives are Two Jack Lake and Lake Minnewanka)
- Lake Louise - Begin your day with a visit to the iconic Lake Louise. Spend an hour admiring the stunning turquoise waters, surrounded by towering mountain peaks and glaciers. Walk along the lakeshore trail for beautiful photo opportunities and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
- Banff Avenue - Head to Banff Town for some free time to explore. Stroll through the charming streets, visit local shops, and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the many restaurants or cafes. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of this mountain town and perhaps pick up some souvenirs.
- Bow Falls - Conclude your day with a visit to Bow Falls, located near the Banff Springs Hotel. Spend 20 minutes walking along the Bow River and admiring the cascading waterfalls. This is a lovely spot to relax and appreciate the natural beauty of the area.
- Banff Gondola - Choose between the Banff Gondola or Hot Springs, ticket not included. Take a ride on the Banff Gondola (Extra Fee) to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Spend 90 minutes enjoying the breathtaking panoramic views of the Canadian Rockies. Walk along the boardwalk to the observation deck, visit the interpretive center, and capture stunning photos of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
- Banff Upper Hot Springs - Choose between the Banff Gondola or Hot Springs, ticket not included. Entry to the Banff Upper Hot Springs is on a first-come, first-served basis, with tickets available for purchase at the reception. Your admission fee includes a locker token, and swimsuits and towels are available for rent onsite.
- Surprise Corner - A photo stop at one of the most iconic and scenic viewpoints in the area, overlooking the stunning Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Do it! - Views were absolutely stunning. I can’t believe how breathtaking everything was. The people on the tour were so friendly and the guide was phenomenal! Everyone is so happy to help take pictures and create one big joyous experience!

A Seamless Day of Banff Highlights – Thanks to Ben and Banff ToGo - Full day experience in Banff national park! We had a fantastic full-day tour with Banff ToGo, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially if you're looking to hit the major highlights without the stress of driving, parking, or logistics.
Our guide, Ben, was terrific — easygoing, friendly, and impressively knowledgeable about the region’s history, geology, and wildlife. He kept things moving at a relaxed pace while making sure we had time to enjoy each stop and take in the views. The whole day felt well-paced and unrushed.
The tour included Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, a ride on the Banff Gondola, and several scenic stops in between. For me, the two standouts were Moraine Lake, which was absolutely breathtaking — the kind of view you almost can’t believe is real — and the Banff Gondola, which gave us panoramic views that are hard to describe without sounding like a travel brochure (in the best way).
Everything ran smoothly, and the group size was just right — big enough to be social, small enough to feel personal. It’s clear that Ben and the Banff ToGo team know how to make the most of a day in the park.
Tip: Dress in layers, bring water and sunscreen, and don’t forget your camera. You’ll want photos — and then you’ll want to put the camera away and just take it all in.

A wonderful overview of beautiful places!! - A wonderful overview of several sites with enough time for photos and a bit of wandering. Also helpful to decide if you want to go back & spend more time at each area. Sammy was our guide who was engaging, knowledgeable and polite and funny!

Takes a day, but it's worth it - For a weeklong trip to Calgary, this was a fantastic trip; well worth the money. Sure, it's a long drive (about 1.5 hours) to get to Banff from Calgary, but the tour guide makes the time go by seemingly fast. The sites were spectacular, and I'm not sure most would not have been able to accomplish as much in the amount of time we did. It was an experience we will remember.

Great way to see the harder to access sites - It was a great way to see alot of the harder to navigate sites - lake Louise and Moraine. But be prepared to be flexible. And have to work on a schedule.
