Spectacular! - My husband and I did the group hike to the Roman aqueduct (Peña Cortada), led by Dmitry, and it was truly spectacular! Walking through the town of Chelva with its Jewish, Moorish, Christian, and Arabic influence, traversing the Ruta del Agua along and above the river, and hiking up into the mountains, through tunnels that form part of the aqueduct before crossing the aqueduct itself, we saw incredible scenery, and best of all, the aqueduct--an amazing feat of engineering--over 2,000 years old, and completely preserved! It was nice getting to know this international group of hikers, and Dmitry has deep knowledge of the region which he is happy to share when asked. The hike was often uphill which was strenuous for me, though my husband (who is athletic) classified it as moderate. Highly recommend!

A great day out led by our super guide, Dmitry. - A very enjoyable walk led by our super guide, Dmitry, who gave us some interesting information along the route. Everyone in our group of 15 members really enjoyed the experience - the views were amazing and walking across the Roman aqueduct was a special moment for all. Dmitry organised lunch for the group in Restaurant Rincon de los Pacos, Chelva, and the food and service were very good. Our many thanks to Dmitry.

A wonderful day hike to Pena Cortada - Our circular hiking route today guided by Valencia's best guide, Dmitry with his knowledge, care, organization and professionalism on a beautiful fall day to visit the 2000 year old Roman aqueduct near the charming town of Chelva (only an hour drive from Valencia) makes for a wonderful day hike that is relatively easy for most hikers. I highly recommend the hike and the Valencia Mountain Enthusiasts.

Fabulous hike to Roman Aqueduct. - Leaving our hotel from the old part of Valencia,we were picked up by our guide Dmitri and drove to the town of Chelva where we started the walk. Approx 15 km round trip , the walk was moderate with some climbing before reaching the Roman Aqueduct. Take some water and a few snacks as it is quite tiring but worth the visit if you are interested in history. Dimitri was well experienced and informative. Some wonderful views and something different to do during your stay.

Highly Recommended - We have completed two walks with Dmitry, first the day hike to the Roman aqueduct and then a two day hike around Chelva. Both experiences were fantastic with prompt pickup at The Mestalla, comfortable transport to the mountains and great company on the hike and at dinner on the two day hike. The hike locations are absolutely stunning. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous! - This is a gorgeous hike, through an old town, past the most clear river, over bridges in the mountains, through the old aqueduct tunnels, a split in the rock and finally over the viaduct itself. So much to see!

Great hike through history - Dmitry picked me up on time, drove to the hike, we got a coffee, and then started the hike! It was a really fantastic experience. He was very knowledgeable about the area, history, and was nice to talk to. If I come back to Valencia I will definitely book another hike.

More hiking than history; but cool! - We were joined by a sweet stray dog who made the entire hike with us! Walking through the aquaduct was great. Enjoyed the views. Would have given 4-5 stars, but had hoped for more history or information. Emphasis clearly was on hiking. More physically demanding than anticipated, especially for those in 50’s. Would have been too nervous with child who might not be as careful about drop-offs/cliffs.
