- Koh Ker Temple - Situated 120 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap, the Koh Ker Lost Archaeological Site is a historical gem. It likely served as the state temple for Jayavarman IV when it was the empire’s capital (928–944 AD).
The Khmer king, Jayavarman IV, relocated the capital to Chok Gargyar, now known as Koh Ker.
The scenic journey from Siem Reap to Koh Ker takes about two hours on well-maintained roads. Along the way, travelers can enjoy views of cashew and banana plantations, lush rice fields, and charming local villages.
