Unlike typical tourist tours, we emphasize the importance of ideas and explore how a few significant concepts have shaped the university over its dynamic eight-century history.
Our guides weave together fascinating stories of Cambridge figures who changed the world, such as Isaac Newton, William Wilberforce, and John Milton. They will guide you through topics like the university’s origins in Christian monasteries, the Protestant Reformation, the rise of modern science, movements advocating for the rule of law and religious freedom, and the campaign to end the British slave trade.
