Excellent - Had a very nice Zodiak tour from 6-7 hours.
Group of 7 humpback whales spotted and a few more further down.
The humpback whales jumped out of the water a few times!
3 orcas spotted, seals, American bald eagle, black oystercatchers, tern with young.
All in all had a very good trip with also very nice weather!

Absolutely outstanding whale watching trip. Unforgettable experience. - Absolutely outstanding! This is by far the best wildlife trip we have ever been on. We are a family of four (two kids included) who went on the 6 hour whale watching trip from Campbell River in July 2025 on a warm and sunny day. Everything was so professional from the minute we arrived.
The reception staff got us kitted out with thick all in one suits which were brilliant and very much needed when out in open waters going at speed as the wind was cold.
We were introduced to our tour guide and captain for the day, Andreas. He gave us a full and thorough safety brief and a rough idea as to what the day would potentially involve. He made it clear from the beginning that the safety and welfare of the wildlife was top priority. He would not manoeuvre the boat too close to the sealife to avoid stressing it out. There is a clear policy of alerting other nearby boats know that they are approaching an animal- a flag is waved to tell them to slow down. Andreas did this on a number of occasions.
Then the magic started. Within minutes we were watching a group or orcas. Over the next two hours we saw 8 humpback whales. Andreas was so informative, answering so many questions and telling us a lot about the animals. He knew the area so well and his knowledge of the marine life was fantastic.
He navigated us north around many of the islands in the archipelago, knowing the best spots to see the wildlife and appreciate the stunning scenery. In these areas we saw around a dozen bald eagles, a sea otter (a rare site for this time of year), seals and sea lions.
Andreas asked us on a couple of occasions what our preferences were for where to go next but we allowed him to guide us to the best spots.
We stopped at a lovely spot for lunch which was provided by Eagle Eye Adventures and included sandwiches, cookies, plenty of drink options (both hot and cold), little chocolates, fresh fruit juice etc. Special thanks to the company for provided a gluten free lunch for my husband.
I honestly can’t fault anything about this tour. Andreas was an amazing host for the day and the trip was an exciting adventure that massively exceeded our expectations. It was suitable for our children who were thrilled by the speed of the boat and captivated by the wildlife. I wish we had booked a bear watching trip too but we didn’t have enough days left on our trip.
Although this experience was expensive, the price is completely competitive with other tour companies and completely worth every penny we spent on it. Thank you so much for our amazing day!

A trip to never forget - The biggest reason for our trip to VC Island was a whale-watching tour. After researching the options, we chose to travel to Campbell River and take a tour with Eagle Eye Adventures. Our research showed that the boats coming from Victoria were much larger, more boats and had less care for the animals. And we were right. There were 8 tourists and a captain on the boat and the captain really respected the animals. In the morning we spotted a couple of humpback whales just swimming and some jumping out of the water. The lunch was good and the location where we stopped to eat and take a break was beautiful. After the lunch we also saw a couple of orcas. The 6 hours were over before we knew it! The captain was great! She had a lot of knowledge, respect for the animals and a big camera to take some spectacular photos (they are on their FB). The jumping humpback whales made this a unique experience and something we will never forget. We would definitely do another trip with them! We might even travel back just to do another tour.

Exciting day out with knowledgeable local tour guide . - Great day out with Benji captaining powerful open air Rib. It is the expertise of the area, and timings of tides and coms with other tour boats that can make the difference I what you see. Benji, with his high energy & optimistic approach made the 6 hours fly by as well as providing knowledge in an interesting way that illustrated that he is a true local!
The longer trip is definitely recommended due to the long distances needed to find the wildlife and give time to actually watch the whales rather than grabbing a quick glance, Delicious and thoughtful local packed lunch. The company clearly has nature conservation in mind.

Wildlife bucket list - We had an awesome time on our 6 hour Zodiac tour. Captain Benji was great. A really nice guy full of information and you could see he loved his job. The young lady in the office was also very nice and very helpful.
We saw Killer Whales, Eagles, Seals, Dolphins and a heap of really beautiful scenery. Lunch was provided and was fresh and enjoyable. Like all tours of this kind, nothing is guaranteed, but we had a fantastic day and we got to tick off a few things on to see wildlife list.

A fantastic wildlife safari - From the outset, Benji’s eagle eyes ensured we had our first sightings of a humpback whale. The six hours flew by with Benji explaining about the history, geography and wildlife of the area. It was a true wildlife safari; we saw sea lions, porpoises, bald eagles, a wide range of birds, but the highlight of the day was spending time with a pod of seven Orcas.
A delicious lunch was enjoyed by a cascading waterfall. A wonderful, organised by a great team.

Great whale watching on a Zodiac - We were very lucky and saw some humpback whales in the first half and had the opportunity to watch a group of orcas for more than an hour in the second half. I particularly liked the fact that the tour takes place on a Zodiac - a kind of rubber boat. You get suits that protect against the wind, and there's a wide range of sizes to make everyone feel comfortable. With the Zodiac you are very immediately on the water; can observe everything closely and feels really connected to nature.
Our guide knew exactly where to find the whales. At lunch break you moor briefly and get a nice packed lunch.
Wildlife watching is always a matter of luck and not everyone will see as much as we do. But I can still highly recommend the tour because you get a great impression of the nature and wildlife. For six hours I also find the tour very inexpensive.

Super cool - Nice Tour had with our guides Benji and Kai (still in training), benji knew a lot to tell vool enthusiasm, we have seen 4 killerwhales, a lot of sea urchins, sea lions, lunch what fine, well catered for, we have been with the closed boat and that was a good thing, because the sea was rough. Too bad we didn't see a humpback whale therefore no 5 stars but the organization can't do anything about that, definitely recommend this tour
