OPTION 2 – Lake Hike: Enjoy a trek to, or along the shores of, one of Kananaskis’s many pristine lakes. Surrounded by the region’s iconic limestone peaks and sub-alpine forest, this option emphasizes glacial basin views – the perfect way to experience K-Country’s wilderness at a relaxed, observant pace. Lake destinations include Chester Lake, Rummel Lake, and Upper/Lower Kananaskis Lakes, among others.

• Alberta 40 - The day’s adventure leads us onto Highway 40, heading south towards Highwood Pass – the highest paved road in Canada at 2,206m. With a single lane in each direction and much quieter than the main highway to Banff, the drive along this route is world-class – offering panoramic mountain views on all sides and frequent wildlife sightings.
