• Emerald Lake - The Activity: Enjoy a 5.2km loop around the stunning Emerald Lake, known as the “Jewel of Yoho.” This mostly flat trail offers a chance to explore the lake’s vibrant colors through active discovery, completing the longest trail of the day before the midday crowds arrive.

Duration: 1.5–2 hours.

• Natural Bridge - The Activity: Make a quick stop along Emerald Lake Road to witness the Kicking Horse River as it carves through solid rock.
• Lake Louise - The Activity: Visit the most iconic basin in the range. Stroll along the shoreline to find quieter vantage points of the lake and surrounding peaks, providing a better view of the Victoria Glacier and the majestic Fairmont Chateau. The in-and-out lakeshore trail extends up to 4.6km, with minimal elevation gain.

Duration: 1–1.5 hours.

• Moraine Lake - The Activity: At Moraine Lake, combine a walk along the forest-fringed lakeshore (up to 2.5km return) with a short climb up the “Rockpile” trail (350m each way). This offers dual perspectives: close-up views from the water’s edge and the iconic, elevated vista of the breathtaking Ten Peaks and turquoise waters from the Rockpile perch. On the return to Banff, there’s an option for a quick stop at Lake Louise Village.

Duration: 1–1.5 hours.

Note: Moraine Lake Road is closed to all vehicles during winter and to private, non-commercial vehicles year-round. This stop is available only between June and mid-October. Our van has the necessary permits for direct access during this period, eliminating the need to change vehicles or worry about shuttle queues.

• Bow Valley Parkway - The Activity: If time allows, transition to the Bow Valley Parkway for part of the journey back to Banff. This quieter and more relaxed alternative to the Trans-Canada Highway offers a different view of the valley and more frequent wildlife sightings.

Note: Certain sections are subject to seasonal closures for wildlife and to provide a vehicle-free experience for cyclists. During these times, the most scenic accessible portions of the route are utilized.
