Great Experience - Absolutely recommend this trip on the Tenorio River, Have done similar river class trips in the Canadian Rockies and near La Fortuna CR as well. We were lucky enough to be picked up from our accommodation by the owner, Danny, who gave us such an enjoyable informative drive there and back. A proud Costa Rican who has such knowledge of the geology, environmental guidelines, and wildlife of the area. We loaded into the back of a covered open air truck where us and 10 others had a short drive to the river. My husband and I were put on a raft with Jose and Justin - both so friendly. Jose sure has an eye for spotting wildlife along the way, We saw monkeys, iguanas, a snake, parrots, toucans, and fish. Jose and Justin maneuvered us around and over the most rocky and narrow river we've ever rafted. One spot was too narrow so we portaged a short distance. We had so much fun with the rapids and getting wet! The trip ended with snacks and beverages, and then a 45 minute rough drive to the highway. We were provided with a delicious chicken, fish or pork lunch complete with ice tea and dessert at RCR's families restaurant along the highway. Thank-you for a wonderful day!

ROBERITO! WORTH EVERY CENT SAFE FOR SOLOs! - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NO NEED TO BE SCARED! FIRST time EVER doing anything like this and I was solo an 58 years old. The tour last about two hours. There are a lot of slow things. They ease you into the white order. Americans, who are thinking of the Roberto was incredible—funny, strong, capable, and with a great sense of humor. He made our tour unforgettable and kept us smiling the whole way. All the guides were fantastic, and the owner was very knowledgeable. The photos matched exactly what was promised. If you book a tour, ask for Roberto—he’s a true standout! NO crashes, famous turnovers, and things like that - no need to be scared here there is a little bit heart palpitations, but they absolutely work youinto this slowly. Very clean water saw wildlife. Extra tips wear long shorts or capri pants. Wear sunscreen on your legs and any exposed part of your skin. Thanks Vanessa at Cabanas Koi Retreats and Tica and Gringa Adventures for this suggestion!

Rafting is a must do - We had a great time and everyone on the team was very friendly from start to finish. Although we got stuck on the rocks a couple of times the “captain” quickly got us moving. Lots of fun. Highly recommended.

Good mood and swimming on the date - Descending the river safely and especially with the good humor of Roberto who took the time to explain the local flora and fauna. It was a lot of fun and the little fall at the end is a lot of fun. 100% recommended

Thrilling ride down the Rio Tenorio - As part of a larger excursion, we linked up with RCR Rafting for a 3-hour experience on the Rio Tenorio. This included a 1.5-hour float down a narrow section of the river that featured about fifteen rapids in total. Five of those were Class 3+, which definitely gets the heart rate going! Our guide, Oscar, and the safety guide, Jason, were both exceptional. They spoke English well and were very clear about what to expect on the river. Beyond the rafting, Jason was quite outgoing in describing local traditions and helped us spot a variety of mammals, birds, and reptiles along the banks. If you have an adventurous streak and enjoy outdoor excursions, this is a must-do in Guanacaste.

Wonderful Excursion but ROBBED while on the river - 4 couples. Our trip down the river with Roberto ("Rob" or "Lalo") and his team was so fun and exciting. We enjoyed having their expertise on the trip, and their comedic personalities added to the adventure. HOWEVER, about 15 minutes after we left the meeting point, our car was broken into and we were robbed of all our cash, cell phone and credit cards. Shortly after the theft, the cards were used to purchase THOUSANDS worth of merchandise. Someone knows their operation and that we would be out of sight and out of touch for hours. To be fair, Rob and his associate helped us tremendously with the local police report since they could translate English to Spanish on our behalf, and this was very appreciated. Security is needed.
