Excellent experience and the MTS promoter always willing and present - Excellent Service, Very Nice Navigation, Staff on board some geniuses, good drink and meals, all very well and the place deserves to return

Don’t trust the recommendations - The worst experience in travel ever. I feel we were completely mislead by MTS. We wrote in advance of our trip about a snorkeling excursion. They recommended Albatros Catamaran, which included a visit to Isla Mujares and private beach. From the start, we should have turned around! Advised to bring a towel, change of clothes, and sunscreen, we were never told the snorkeling was actually a 400 meter open water swim. The sunscreen had to be reef safe (which I had) but that wasn’t spelled out in the instructions. There were three boats and very confusing onboarding instructions. For example, we were each given a colored wristband but the announcements were for the passengers to board the boats with o reference to the colored wristbands. I mean they called all passengers for Atlantis III, but we didn’t know which boat we were on. Also, the boats were Atlantis, Atlantis II and Atlantis III but that was NOT the name on the back of boat. (See photo) On board, we were told to hurry to the front to get instructions. We didn’t get any safety instructions, just a hard sell on renting a golf cart on the island. We were handed life vests but no one was told how to properly wear one. Arriving at the snorkeling site, the crew leader said he had to hurry off the back of the boat and into the water and follow the crew member swimming ahead. As we walked to the back, fastening our life vests, we were handed a mask and snorkel… and had to jump off the back. Again, no time to tell us what we should look for, just follow the swimmer ahead. Back on the boat, we headed to Downtown Isla Mujares and told we needed another wristband. Hustling us off the boat, the crew leader led us to a store front where we waited in confusion for the wristband-with NO explanation. We had only an hour to return to boat so we wondered around briefly. Back to boat and onto the private beach, we arrived to find about 300 young people having a great time in the water and using every single beach chair and kayak. The crew leader walked us across the beach (quickly) to the food area. Most of the tables were full and the chairs were falling apart. The food was gross and picked over. The other two boats and the 300 young people were already there when we arrived. We went back to the place the crew leader told us the boat would pick us up along with everyone else (all disgusted and ready to get off the beach and end this miserable trip.) Then we were told by the crew leader, oops, we have to go back across the beach to the other dock. Hurry! On the boat, the crew leader acknowledged this wasn’t what we were promised but kept saying he wasn’t to blame. Please still tip the crew (I didn’t) Finally at the dock, the crew leader didn’t secure the boat which drifted off so I could not step off. My friend had to come over to grab my hand so we could pull back to the dock and help others off the boat! Finally, off the boat, our driver arranged by MTS was late, but he was a really good guy. I went to the MTS desk at our resort and the woman said she did know Albatros was a crappy tour! Why would MTS continue to offer a service they acknowledged was under-delivering on their promises? I would like MTS to help me get a refund from Albatros!

Terrible, overcrowded, rude, disorganized - This tour was a complete waste of a day of our vacation. We were picked up at our resort and driven to the port, where there were literally hundreds of people being herded like cattle into different lines. We waited out in the heat for at least 45 minutes waiting to get checked in, all the while trying to get us to buy sunscreen, hats, drinks, etc. The catamaran should have at least 20 less passengers on it, it was overcrowded and uncomfortable. They insisted on no shoes even when going into the restroom with the wet floor which is just gross. The snorkeling was very disorganized and actually dangerous the way it was run. The stop at the beach club was beautiful, no complaints there. When we got to the second stop near playa Norte, one passenger did not hear the direction on when to return and such and the crew members response was “you should have listened.” Unbelievable. I would never use this company for anything again.
