More that a tour, it felt like a reset! - We consider these dates among the best for traveling to Playa del Carmen and after doing Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos, we took them off our list of "sites to visit in Mexico". We thought it would be a fascinating tour and we had a general idea of what to expect from reviews, but the actual experience went way beyond that. It's not just pink water and crocodiles. The whole area feels quit and open and the boat part was especially peaceful. Our group wasn't huge, which helped keep the vide calm, David our guide and Abelardo our captain, kept everything easy to follow without over-talking. It ended up feeling almost therapeutic, like a break from noise and screens. There's nothing else like it.

Superb, heavenly pink lakes and nature communion! - Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos were the highlights of our visit to Cancun. The journey became fun when we traveled with a guide as charismatic as David. The all-day trip was great! We saw many interesting sights along the way, including colonial haciendas and agave plantations. We learned that agave is used to make tequila. We also saw villages with modern Mayan communities. At the site, it feels like being in heaven. We were told these are the best times to see pools with their fantastic pink color. The boat tour is amazing. We witnessed a band of curious raccoons flooding the shore. They show up looking for fish and aren't scare of people! We did the Mayan clay bath and learned an interesting fact: The same white clay from Rio Lagartos is used or imported by spas in the USA and Europe for exfoliating massages and sold at high prices. This activity includes all entrance fees, you only pay a small on-site tax. The food is delicious and you travel in a van with a relatively small group. An absolutely must-do!

Amazingly beautiful Las Coloradas - This is by far the best tour in our opinion worth every dollar for the tour that is made. It is a very long day but it is filled with activities the entire time. Mauricio was amazing and funny as a guide.

From white snow to pink lakes! - We literally reached paradise, from Vancouver to Cancun. Our first activity was this tour to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos, the experience was by far wonderful. The full day trip was well worth it. The time we had on each spot was just right, no more, no less. Our guide Jose provided lots of interesting information at each location. For me, the most interesting fact was learning that the whole places are an ecological reserve and that it's strictly protected. We traveled safely, without any issues, in a group of no more than 20 people. There's a small federal preservation tax, other than that, everything is included. Tourballoon highly recommended!

Los Colorados - My 18 year old and I went on this trip and we were both had so much fun! Bus ride is long but the seats are cushioned, reclining and comfy for sleeping. Honestly everything went so smoothly. Pink lake was so pretty and boat ride was the best part. Good lunch but the sandwich they gave us for the bus was seriously nasty. Make sure you packs some snacks, water and have you hotel pack you a sandwhich. Our bus driver and guide were so nice. Don't forget tip for the boat driver, bus driver and tour guide. They deserve it! GREAT EXCURSION!

Fell in love with this experience! - We fell in love with this experience. Seeing the day stretch from sunrise to sunset was a long journey, but every moment was worth it. The preservation of the area is remarkable. It truly feels like an untouched sanctuary. We really appreciated that the groups were split into small boats, sharing the ride with just seven others an our guide and captain "David", made it feel intimate. He explained fascinating details like how the ancient mayas used the white clay for camouflage and protection and we were lucky to have a sunny day which made the pink water look incredibly vibrant. This activity includes all but a small tax at Las Coloradas pink waters. 100% recommended!

Joyful!!! Las Colorados y Rio Lagarto - Even though I was initially worried about the long distance, I'm so accessible and glad my husband convinced me to take this trip. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. Jose, our guide and another Jose (our captain), made the time fly by. We learned that swimming is not allowed to protect the pink lakes, but simply seeing them is beautiful. However we took the relaxing Mayan bath. The highlight for us was the boat ride (we were 8 people on the boat) in Rio Lagarto where we saw so many animals besides crocodiles and flamingos. Tickets are included in this full day trip. Absolutely recommended.

We met the greatness of Mother Nature in a single tour! - We were at the road on our way to the Yucatan at 7:30am. Three and a half hour drive (approximately) to the first stop, the astonishing "Las Coloradas". Our guide explained in an engaging and interesting way why some of the pools are pink and other's aren't. We also learned that it's one of the largest salt flats in Mexico. In Rio Lagartos our boat driver "Ernesto", who's a very down-to-earth person and knows the area very well took us to the best spots. We were able to get close to the crocodiles, seagulls and flamingos among other animals. At the crocodile farm, we saw baby crocs, very well cared for and that we could touch, all in a controlled environment and without risk to anyone. This full day activity includes entrance fees and there's a small tax on-site called the "salt tax". Food, drinks and transportation are also included. We feel grateful to life for allowing us to visit these beautiful places. Honestly the best way to visit these sites is through a well organized tour like this one.
