- Canterbury Cathedral - Established by St Augustine in 597 AD, Canterbury Cathedral is a remarkable place of worship, a significant pilgrimage site, an artistic and architectural masterpiece, and one of the UK’s most-visited historical landmarks. Often called ‘England in stone’, the Cathedral has been central to many significant events and changes. It serves as the Mother Church of the global Anglican Communion, the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the final resting place of royalty and saints.
Discover the marks left by builders, staff, and visitors. Architectural changes reflect the church’s evolution, masons’ marks indicate where they worked, and visitor markings, known as ‘medieval graffiti’, offer insights into those who have passed through, leaving anonymous notes in history. Tickets can be purchased in advance for you.

Hever Castle & Gardens - With a history spanning over 600 years, Hever Castle’s past is rich and diverse. The original medieval defensive castle, featuring a gatehouse and walled bailey, was constructed in 1383. During the 15th and 16th centuries, it was home to the influential Boleyn family, who modernized the residence within the walls.
The Castle also showcases the extraordinary efforts of a wealthy American, William Waldorf Astor, who used his wealth to restore and expand the Castle in the early 20th century, preventing its ruin. Astor was meticulous, ensuring his workers used materials and tools similar to those of Tudor and Elizabethan craftsmen.
The award-winning gardens at Hever Castle offer numerous stunning areas that are delightful to visit year-round. - Dover Castle - Dover Castle likely began as a motte and bailey castle, constructed following the Norman Conquest of 1066. It was transformed by King Henry II between 1179 and 1188, with the addition of the keep, inner bailey walls, and parts of the outer curtain wall.

- Hever Castle. The Water Maze. Cool down in the Water Maze but don’t forget to bring a towel! Situated on Sixteen Acre Island it is a maze with a difference that consists of a series of concentric stepping stone walkways sitting over water; at intervals the stones tilt when stood on and hidden water jets spring into action to soak the unwary visitor. The aim is to reach the stone grotto in the centre without getting wet. Few are successful although it is great fun and challenges young and old alike.
- For the Water Maze you must bring towels.
