Cao Bang - 6:00 – 6:30 Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter to begin the journey to Cao Bang.
12:45 – 13:00 Arrival in Cao Bang city. Check into the hotel and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
14:30 Visit Nui Thung, also known as Angel Eye Mountain, and it’s clear why. Midway up the mountain, there’s a large hole. The uniqueness of this place is not just the mountain itself. A narrow road leads to this area, revealing a hidden valley with mountains, jungle, plains, and a lake that mirrors the Angel Eye.
16:00 Visit Thang Hen Lake.
Thang Hen Lake is situated in Quoc Toan Commune, Tra Linh District, 30km north of Cao Bang. The lake comprises 36 large and small lakes on high peaks, thousands of meters above sea level. The main lake is diamond-shaped, 300 meters wide and 1,000 meters long. It is a stunning lake among the rocky mountains.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is not only the most famous waterfall in Vietnam but has recently been recognized as one of the 7 most majestic waterfalls in the world. Ban Gioc Waterfall is formed from a section of the Quay Son River at the border between Vietnam and China, divided into two parts, the main waterfall and the secondary waterfall. Viewed from the base of the waterfall, the left waterfall and the western half of the right waterfall belong to Vietnam’s territory in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province; the eastern half of the right waterfall belongs to China’s territory. This is a must-visit location when traveling to Cao Bang.

Picturesque Cao Bang and famous Ban Gioc waterfalls! - The reason I went to Coa Bang was to see the Ban Gioc waterfalls, where which I heard about from the Chinese Drama series - The Journey of Flower. I don’t know much about Cao Bang at all. I was travelling alone so I decided to join a tour . This was one of the best experience I had while joining a tour. The sceneries were breathtaking. Not only did the Ban Gioc waterfalls live up to my expectations. But the surrounding landscapes were picturesque as well. My tour guide Mr Nyuyen Huy Hoàng was amazing. He treated me like a family member, like an older brother, which was nice when you travel alone. He also paid great attention to details when explaining the culture and history of the places that we visited. He was extremely knowledgeable in regard to the Vietnamese culture. He took me to the required tourist places but doesn’t push me to buy anything that I don’t wanted to, which I appreciated very much. Mr Hoàng also introduced me to some tasty local foods like Bánh cuốn Cao Bang, Khau nhục (my favourite), Nộm hoa chuối rừng and Canh chua thịt băm He is a cheerful character and easy to get along with. We had some interesting conversations ranging from place to travel family, interests, life and what’s like being a young person in modern Vietnam. I guess it helps that I can speak a bit of Vietnamese. Initially, on the first day it was just me and my tour guide. However, on the second day when we went to visit the Ban Gioc waterfalls. I get to join up with other travellers from Italy, Greece and India, which made the trip enjoyable as there other people to talk to and share travel experience. Besides the Ban Gioc waterfalls, my favourite part of the trip was riding the motorcycle around the picturesque landscape of Cao Bang. However, I would enjoyed even more if i was able to ride the motorcycle myself. All over its was a fantastic trip with an awesome tour guide. I definitely recommend this tour to my family and friends.

Highly recommended - We left Hanoi in the afternoon returning from ha long bay.car very comfortable. Careful driver. Arrive at Cao Bang late in the evening. In the morning we met the guide Em, very nice girl who accompanied us for the next two days. Return to Ninh binh for a total of 3 nights around.
