- Pereybere Beach - Pereybere Beach is a beloved public beach in northern Mauritius, celebrated for its tranquil, turquoise waters and soft white sand, making it perfect for swimming and relaxation. It offers a lively atmosphere, particularly on weekends, with amenities such as food trucks, restaurants, and shaded spots for visitors.
- Grand Baie Public Beach - Grand Baie is a vibrant tourist destination in Mauritius, featuring several beaches, including the main Grand Baie Public Beach and nearby La Cuvette Beach. The public beach is renowned for its bustling environment, local snacks, and stunning sunset views, offering a picturesque setting with clear waters and a variety of experiences from lively nightlife to serene relaxation. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing fruit juice while admiring the turquoise blue lagoon.
- Chateau De Labourdonnais - The Château, constructed in 1859, has been carefully restored and furnished with period antiques, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in 19th-century Mauritian colonial life. The mansion is surrounded by lush botanical gardens and orchards, showcasing a diverse array of tropical flora, including century-old mango trees, spice plants, and a small animal farm with giant Aldabra tortoises.
- SSR Botanic Garden - The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden, previously known as the Royal Botanic Garden, is located in the village of Pamplemousses, approximately ten kilometers northeast of Port Louis. Since the 18th century, the Botanic Garden has been known by various names such as “Jardin de Mon Plaisir,” “Jardin des Plantes,” “Le Jardin National de l’Isle de France,” “Jardin du Roy,” “Jardin Botanique de Pamplemousses,” and “The Royal Botanical Garden, Pamplemousses.” On September 18, 1988, it was renamed the “Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden” in honor of Mauritius’s first Prime Minister.
- Citadel Fort Adelaide - Situated on a hill in Port Louis, Mauritius, La Citadelle de Port Louis, or Fort Adelaide, overlooks the capital. This fortress, with its black stone walls, dates back to 1830 and was built under British rule by Sir Charles Colville. Fort Adelaide was constructed to defend Port Louis from invasions and manage local uprisings amid racial tensions. Completed in 1840 and named after Adelaide, wife of King William IV, it remains intact, unlike many British-era forts. It symbolizes the end of slavery and the beginning of Indian immigration, built by a diverse labor force.
- Le Caudan Waterfront - Le Caudan Waterfront is a commercial complex in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. It features shops, banking facilities, casinos, cinemas, restaurants, a marina, and a five-star hotel (Le Labourdonnais). The name Le Caudan Waterfront is derived from a notable historical figure, Jean Dominique Michel de Caudan, who arrived in the former Isle de France from Languedoc (a historical province in southern France). He established a saltpan in 1726 near a small bay in the southwest of Port Louis. This area, now known as the Robert Edward Hart Garden, is located on the entrance road to Le Caudan Waterfront.
