Highly recommend! - This was my first solo trip (25yo Male) and I would highly recommend Earthstompers and the Garden Route tour to anyone. Guide- Our guide was Mark and he was fantastic, he was not only knowledgeable but was genuinely interested in making sure we had a good trip and would go the extra mile, good sense of humour too! He was always conscious of our safety, both on the road with his driving but also when stopping along the route. His communication was clear and he always told us the night before what to expect the next day which I liked. Accomodation (photos included to show backpacker option)- I booked the Backpacker Single Ensuite option, and this was more than sufficient. I thought about choosing the guesthouse option as I usually prefer nicer accommodation, and was worried I might not like the hostels, but the backpackers were all excellent and usually our tour group occupied most of the backpackers anyway. The group dinners happen at the backpackers, so if you choose the guesthouse option you will do more back and forth driving to get to your accomodation. You barely spend anytime at your accomodation so I don’t think there is any need to book the guesthouse option. As a fussy sleeper I was perfectly fine with the backpacker ensuite. Itinerary- There is a lot of driving on the tour, but it’s clearly stated beforehand and the drive is also quite scenic. We had bathroom/snack breaks every 1.5-2hrs which was nice to stretch the legs and also have a look around. The tour gives you a wide range of scenery from wineries and farmlands, to beaches and game reserves. As a first timer to South Africa I found the tour to be great and gave me a mix of activities and landscapes Overall- highly recommend and also great value for money for what you get

Wonderful 6 day trip in SA - I had never done a group bus tour before and was a bit sceptical at first—but this trip turned out to be one of the most incredible experiences. Over six days, I joined a group of 13 amazing people from six different countries, and together we shared unforgettable moments. Thanks to our fantastic guide, Gareth, we got to see so much of South Africa—its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and rich history. He filled our journey with fascinating insider knowledge and historical context, making the time on the bus just as engaging as our stops. The itinerary was well-balanced, the scenery stunning, and the group dynamic truly special. We laughed a lot, explored hidden gems, and left with so many beautiful memories. I’d recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, insightful, and social way to experience South Africa. I can also highly recommend the agency Earthstompers that makes sure to personalize your trip as much as possible!

Great tour on the Garden route - Am just back from the 6-day Garden route and Addo-tour, and what an amazing week it has been! Christine was an excellent guide, so full of energy and enthusiasm, making sure that everyone had what they needed and taking us safely from one beautiful place to the other. The places we visited were all so nice, I kept wanting to stay longer in each of them, saying “Next time..”. Yes, we did spend quite a lot of time in the bus to get between them, but that is after all unavoidable if wanting to visit them all. Shorter stops to stretch legs etc in between the main stops made the journeys feel shorter. The program was a good combination of beautiful nature and views, physical activity, wildlife spotting etc, and also allowed for some adjustments to get the most out of the trip depending on the weather. I had booked single room in backpackers places and I was very positively surprised of the standard, it was much better than I expected. The places were neat and clean and I had lots of space in all of them. Food served was also very nice. I had the privilege to do the tour together with a great group of people of different ages and nationalities - the new friends made also contributed to a great week. All in all everything was just great, very well organised and price worthy, and I would very much recommend the tour and company!

Great tour of the Garden Route - A great tour. Our guide Christine made the days an experience for all of us. She was so incredibly attentive. Very many impressions, incredible scenery, nice fellow travelers. Also the quarters were very good. You just have to be aware that you sometimes sit in the vehicle for a very long time.

Great small group tour highlighting the region between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth - This was an excellent tour. Gareth was a great guide explaining area we travelled through and pointing out places of interest. Guest house accommodation was excellent and by all accounts the backpackers rooms with private ensuites was just as good. The dinners were much better than expected and we loved that traditional South African meals were served. We stopped at some fantastic little unique cafes, farms, stalls and towns. Gareth took great pleasure in describing the various treats that were on offer at each place. Highlight was the kayaking, forest walk and swimming at the falls.
